Over 30 years, since the year my daughter was born.
And this is my "hair sylist".

The total cost is about @$35.- x 6 = $210.-

I cut my hair every week and it's free.

I've cut my own hair for over 12 years.
I did go for a cut once like 8 years ago but the bitch was really rough combing it. I did not leave a tip.
I have a cheap ass clipper set with 1-8 size attachments.
I'm currently rocking The Wolverine style. Longer on the sides styled up, short on top. Snickety snick.
I have sampled every language and French is my favorite to curse in.

I've been cutting my own hair for over a decade. The last time I went to a barber was 2009.
That said -- I have very easy hairstyle for cutting. I just use scissors and hair-thinners for everything.
You must have 2 mirrors for the back of your head. I use my bathroom mirror and a small handheld mirror for the back
If you have / want a complex haircut (e.g. fade), you probably should use a professional. The longer you hair is, the better your chances of success with cutting your own hair. Mistakes won't be noticeable with longer hair.

Been bout that simple dude fade life, and cutting my own hair for almost 30 years now. It’s hella easy.
Been cutting my sons hair their entire lives (16 and 13), and have cut my friends hair or their kids tons of times.
For a nice set up that won’t break the bank, hit up Amazon for an Oster Fast Feed and Andis Dual Magnet Master Guards.

Wife has been cutting mine for the last year or so.
Went from a comb over to a buzz cut so it’s simple enough.

Started growing mine out about a year before two weeks to slow the spread so it's down to my shoulders now. Feels goodman. When I have short hair I like having someone cut it, though. Makes you feel put together. In college I didn't have any money so I would just shave it off every six months.

I got a solid lol at you saying you increased the amount of times you cut your hair and that's how you saved thousands.
I do cut mine, or have my GF do it since covid. $20 every 2-3 weeks. 400 bucks over a year I guess. Best case.

My barber is re-opening next week with a 40% increase in prices. Would cut my own hair, but fuking up a few times before I get it down is not feasible

Giving up haircuts was one of the first things I did to stack cash when COVID hit. My wife just buzzes it. Saves $500 a year.

Cordless Wahl trimmer. Use a 3 all around and then go from the bottom straight up with a 1.5 every week. Every couple of months my wife or son will tame the gorilla look of my upper back. Trim the burns, trim the stash, goatee, and eyebrows. Finish with a nice safety razor shave (Fatip Grande razor and Voshkod blade) and I'm good to go.
