I believe in them. Had an experience that happened exactly like others have stated who have seen them except I didn't see it, only heard it.

Dad and I were fishing in the Sierras outside Mammoth. End of the road type spot, nothing out there where this came from. A pack of coyotes start going crazy like they killed something maybe 100 yards from us but couldn't see them, too many trees and elevation changes. They go on for like five minutes straight. Then a horrific roar from much farther away came. The coyotes instantly all stopped. This roar continued for like 10 minutes. So goddamn loud it didn't make sense. My Dad heard it too but he was much farther away on the other side of this lake. No one else out there and I felt like a sitting duck. Seemed like it might of been coming for the coyotes and I was worried he'd come through the trees and find me instead.

I get it, the world is huge...but it still seems real odd that something concrete hasn't appeared. I'm not saying I don't believe it at all, just extremely skeptical. The ocean depths? Sure. We don't have Hikers, snowmobiles, hunters, etc regularly all over it. We are generally only at the surface in any large numbers.

This. It baffles me how people who are into the cryptozoology manage to completely suspend the use of basic logic in their assertions of beliefs in these crazy mythological creatures.

All the trail cameras set up by hunters... a majority of people have had fairly high quality cameras on their person via smart phones for over a decade, and decent cameras in general have been available for decades. Yet the best evidence we have is stuff some auido of a "Bigfoot scream" some campers supposedly heard out in Washington state in the 1970's, and a bunch of low-quality blurry video footage that isn't definitive whatsoever? Not one corpse or decent set of remains/skeletons/fossils ever found of a creature they believe not only exists, but still lives to this day? Makes zero sense.

Also, the fact that people of different civilizations from across the world throughout history have often come up with similar mythological creatures/stories doesn't mean nearly as much as some people think. What's more likely - That many myths/stories got passed around among groups of people as they traveled/explored the world and varations of said myths stories came about - or, that these mystical stories have things like cryptid creatures somehow still avoiding verifiable detection in the modern world throughout much of the planet?

Also, maybe, juuuuust maybe, people as a whole aren't as creative as we want to believe. Is it really that crazy to think that different civilizations of humans throughout the world could come up with different variations of sometimes somewhat similar myths (like western culture dragons compared to Eastern Asian culture dragons)? Especially when you factor in potential crossovers and passing around of said stories over thousands of years. I mean, look around at people today. 95%+ are pretty fuking basic and uncreative, with like 75% of people being pretty fuking dumb in general. Yet some find it difficult to believe that different groups could come up with some similar mythical stories over time?
