I was a legit alcoholic for a while but now haven’t had so much as a drink in a year. Tbh I’d rather have stims since those help my aesthetics and help me make money

I still socially have a beer here and there but most of the time I don't drink. I just feel like it hinders anything I have planned for the rest of the day, feels sluggish.
I don't miss writing off my Sat/Sun after a big night out.
Same thing with spending time with my good friend Molly. Comedown and sore jaw (no homo) isn't worth it.

My mind was blown when I found out normal people dont drink to get intoxicated, and at that moment is when I accepted I am an alcoholic.

Yes. Sober for 10 months now.
Day after I got out of rehab I started studying for the GMAT, scored a 690 about 2 months later (not crazy high, but solid considering I was working full time and not a ton of prep), got into the MBA program I had put off for 6 years about a month after that. Currently taking courses and looks like I should get A's in my stat and accounting courses this semester. It's a highly competitive MBA program and regionally the best in my state.
Day I got out of rehab I drove to my best friend and business partner's house, who coincidentally had federal charges that had been pending for 3 years dropped against him the day before I got into rehab. We reaffirmed our business plan and doubled down without the distractions of alcohol and pending charges. Even with Covid the business has tripled to a valuation in excess of $1 million given a 3.0x multiple on EBITDA over the past 9 months and the growth hasn't slowed yet.
Day after I got out of rehab I got the dog I had been putting off getting for 5 years.
I went from likely resigning from my career due to alcohol (I was beginning to get too sick to work, srs) to being absolutely on par with our top analysts. I work in a strenuous field where most of my colleagues have quantitative PhDs. Also, several colleagues that are friends were aware of my drinking (on a personal level), and while it never was a direct issue at work, I can tell they are relieved and excited to see me healthy and working closer to my potential.
My skin, teeth, gums, hair, etc., have all returned to normal, I look at least 8 years younger. I peaked out at about 261 last July. I'm currently 221 lbs and 14%ish bodyfat benching in the 380lb range, and I think I might do the first triathlon I've done in over a decade, and not just do one, placing in my age group would be a reasonable goal.
Also, I'm truly happy again, literally everything in my life got 1,000,000x better.
Also money.
And with my sobriety the respect from my peers has returned as well. I'm meeting with a current business partner, a second that I've worked indirectly with but had financial interests on a mutual project with, and 2 other individuals my primary partner has other business with this weekend to coordinate a larger expansion plan. At 32 I seem to have my ducks lined up in a row.

I'll also show you that most of them have micronutrients that are beneficial as well (macros may help make a personlookbetter, but micros are quite important for healthy metabolic and endocrine systems).
Replace 'pizza' with 'cake' at a birthday party. Or Soda. Or Bacon. Or a cheeseburger. Or pot brownies. Or testosterone destroying tofu since this is a T-level obsessed forum.
If you honestly believe that consuming literally any of the things I've discussed in this postin moderation on rare occasionwill have a significant impact on long term health or wellness..then you should probably just avoid consuming anything for the purpose of pleasure and enjoyment and literally just look at what you put in your body as fuel and nothing more. It'll be way cheaper for you, and goodness knows it's a lot easier to just boil chicken and veggies day after day than consume anything else ever. And here's the kicker...there isn't actually anything wrong with that. It's all up to you.

Go hard when you are young and get it out of your system.
It's easy to dial it back or stop once you've experienced those wild times in your youth.

Ifyoucan't stop yourself, then yes, don't start. That is the better choice and will lead to more positive outcomes. This applies to everyone that has a lack of control in this context.
2. I was unaware of Adventists' longer than average lifespan, but about 10 minutes of research showed the majority of their added health benefits were from decreased incidence of diseases strongly correlated tosmoking and overconsumption of meat products. In fact, two rather large studies into this topic (Literally named Adventist Health Studies 1&2) don't correlate lack of alcohol consumption to it whatsoever. Not even a mention of alcohol other than that 6.6% of Adventists admit to drinking currently.
Bro if your argument is literally just "Don't drink because some people have a hard time controlling how much they consume, and too much of anything is bad for you"...then just fukking say it. It's fine, because it is true. It is a problem for a lot of people - there's a ton of miscers in this thread alone who have brought up their personal experiences with alcoholism. It's a chitty affliction to deal with.
But lettuce beef cereal - Any other argument (especially one against literally just one or two drinks every now and then) is just silly.
