To be technical

1. Mexican isn't a race but a nationality

2. Mesoamericans / Amerindians originally came from Asia. Hence why most look nearly 1:1 with Filipinos or Cambodians. Maybe with the noticeable difference of having longer noses and nose bridges but you kinda see that deviation among Filipinos and Cambodians in real life (a natural selection trend just increased it). Just google "Pure Mayans" or if you other examples the Amazon Natives.

So it's not surprising that a 'Mexican' of Mesoamerican ancestry would be mistaken for Asian considering their ancestors came from Asia sometime 6,000 - 20,000 years ago.

Mesoamericans originally came from Asia, dumbass. What else would they look like? They just happened to come 6,000 to 20,000 years ago. But modern H. Sapiens have been around for 200,000.
