Usually when taking volumizing agents such as anabolic hormones, the jaw and face widen temporarily while 'on' (particularly on higher dosages) due to the shunting of water and glycogen into the masseter muscles.

I thought that this was the case in this photo but it appears as if the widening is on the level of his mandible, which indicates a jaw implant.

This is career suicide. I can understand the appeal: it might be an attempt to get more serious roles or look more mature, but there is a time and place for that and it isn't like he isn't aging anyways - he can start doing those roles in a decade or so. This was a big mistake.

Looks 20 years older.

It's a much more common surgery than you'd think. It's very simple surgery and can be inexpensive (I'm sure it wasn't for whoever he chose to go to)
