Bro Split crew. For over 20 years and seems to work just fine.

Progressive overload with drop sets or strip sets.

I think it started with starting strength, stronglifts and because big channels like Alan Thrall started posting things like "the best back workout" in which he did some power clean singles and some farmer walks later. I wanna be a curl bro over some unimpressive functional crossfit athlete strongmanhybrid any day of the week. Not saying Alan Thrall is unimpressive, but this approach is just wrong for the general population just trying to look better. To quote some other miscer: it's part of the woke fitness culture

this is one of the problems with high frequency imo, way harder to go to 100% when you know you're going to have to do it again a couple days later
there is no need to train 100% every time, this is poor fatigue management.

At the end of the day though, the only important factor to gains is overload. Use whatever system you like as long as you're making progress.

Completely agree. nothing wrong with the bread and butter methods.

Agree with whatever program as long as progress, but disagree with only overload.

This means the average kid who goes straight to bench failure every set for 4 sets is sufficient. it's not, nor is simple overload.

Progressive overload, time under tension, and intensity are the factors I believe lead to steady gains. Safely. That's what the pros do and they seem to have have figured it out.

It doesn't. (progressive) overload is not something that can be identified within a single workout, it can only be observed relative to previous performances.
Going to failure doesn't automatically imply overload just because you trained as hard as possible.

The principle of overload means that you've increased the stress placed on a muscle as compared to a previous performance where you were at a comparable level of fitness.
To assess whether or not a single workout presented an overloading stimulus is impossible unless you have other performances to reference.

Overload = present a greater stimulus to the muscle than it has previously been exposed to. As long as you're able to do this and recover, you can't not make gains.

Ppl is better for quick turnaround, you get a lot better frequency but I can never look quite as joocy when I'm on it, I have to sacrifice some volume for the variety and it always shows in my physique.

I think you'll have bigger pumps on a bro split because you're doing like 20 sets for chest in one go rather than split up over the week so that makes sense'

I definitely like it on cutting because after hitting 2 exercises for a bodypart hard I don't have the energy to hit more for that same muscle group
