I agree, your initials on your towels mean nothing.

I do however recommend the best sheets possible. I purchased Legna ($2k for a full queen set) in my 20's and I considered it a great investment being that I spend at least 30% of my life in bed and a good night's sleep is ultra important.

I can see your perspective.......in the audiophile world its a slippery slope and I wish I never knew what good sound sounded like......but listening to good sound does not effect one's productivity or future life. Its a pure pleasure.
But for sleep, yes and no. There is hard data and sleep studies you can do to point a good night's sleep to higher productivity and overall health. So why would you not take advantage of it? Would be like wearing cheap shoes to run vs the best, etc no?

Thanks OP.

Been living on my own without roommates (except for GF recently) for a few years. Never got anything too fancy. Although one mistake I made when buying my first sheets for a queen sized bed: I bought an expensive bedding set for like $100, and before using them I washed them via an incorrect method while also using a detergent pod that I didn't notice exploded and didn't dissolve in the wash properly, so because I didn't notice it got all ruined in the dryer.

Once I upgrade from being a rentcel to a mortgagecel I'll still buy cheaper furniture, decor, and stuff but put money where I want it like my office setup or my bedroom. And on other functional stuff like a gym room or something.

The only place I have EVER seen what you are describing is on TV when some show or movie is trying to show a cliche "rich" person.

Outside of of television, you are the first real person I have ever even heard mention initial embroidery on towels.

Oh no doubt that there is proven data it would help.

I kinda just go by the philosophy that it's been good enough so far, so I might as well ride it out until it's not good enough, THEN upgrade and enjoy the improvement lol. Applies to many things in my life if it's not a matter of immediate life or death tbh. It's certainly possible and even likely upgrading now would merit tangible results. But my current results are plenty good so I'm not too worried about it.

Then again, maybe that's why you're driving multiple unique exotics and I'm in my truck lol.

I can get down with that. Logical thoughts and I practice those things on items that dont impact my life's productivity or health. Like upgrading wheels on my cars. I take my time, buy the car, drive it like it is and then start adding small things to improve its drivability and its looks. So i can certainly see where you are coming from.

Its just that there are certain things that I will go all in on from the gate. (Before I feel the pain and when I can afford it) In some of my businesses, I pay very well for high performing operations managers. I bring them on way earlier than I need......so they can get acquainted with the operations, culture, and I can keep a handle on things to ensure good fit before things get super complex and I actually need a high executing individual leading that team/doing that job full time.

Things that have to do with my health. I try to eat whole foods, home cooked meals etc to mitigate against future disease and maximize my energy levels for productivity. I would love to have a full time chef. But its not in the financial cards right now....but id do it if i could.

Sleep as we have already discussed.

Gym - when i step into the studio, I am on a monitor and i can track my output (sets, heart rate, distance, RPMs, etc) and measure it over time to optimize the productivity of my work outs/time in the gym.

I've seen people monogram their trucks and t-shirts as well. If we're talking Southern trends for stuff people buy, then we've also got Yeti coolers, deer head stickers, and comfort color t shirts.
