For us (me, wife, 4 y/o daughter), it is trying to find the balance of saving enough vs giving our daughter the best life experience.

I haven't talked in person with anyone my age in about 12 months, outside of a couple golf foursomes. No friends, no girls, and IDK how you would go about meeting either. I had a nice social circle going in grad school and then moving for work ripped that away from me.

Work isn't bad and pays very well, but my company has had 3 layoff waves in the last 4 years so you can never get too comfortable here. I think we are looking at a market crash within the next year and I am certain to be the first person on my team to be laid off if push comes to shove.

Parents are in bad health - dad had a quadruple bypass and mom drives with a permanently disability handicap hanger, I'll put it that way. Both have that mountain west self reliance ethos down to the core and would pry sooner shoot themselves than be dependent on someone else. But the day is coming soon where they might not have much of a choice.

Bloatlorded out over the last two years when my metabolism died and taking weight off is a bitch.

I'm picking up vices I never had in college. Drinking and gambling are the new ones, porn was always there as a cope, and again, I'm eating like chit and bloating. I really just need to pick up a drug and then I've got like all the Infinity Stones of degeneracy.

forcibly laid off work by the government from a very easy/high paying part time job that i was using to rack up with until i started school again in september. instead of doing that i've just been trying not to rot at home while living off the government titty

makes me feel kind of useless and also like i'm just finding ways to make time pass until i can get back to school or work or both and be a productive member of society again

fk ontario and doug ford so hard. i actually regret voting conservative, it's that bad.

Dumb thing to stress about, but after seeing how easy your life can be snubbed away. Dying with regrets in life, stuff I will be judged in the afterlife about. Random but it stresses me out sometimes.

Diabetic dog who has gone blind. He's turned into a very picky eater which is amplified by the blindness. Needs an insulin shot twice a day. That part hasn't been an issue yet but dreading if/when we have to go out of town, the worry of having someone care for him.

my ompany basically got bought out so the new one came in and gave some pay raises while cut other's pay including mine and am deciding whether to take the pay cut or take the lay off and let them go fuk themselves because it would take $40+ an hour easy to replace me and i would take immense joy in their suffering and being shorthanded (3 others have bounced already and if i go only half the crew remains), meanwhile I already have another job lined up making just a koont hair less than i am now so it aint no sweat off my back.

also just dropped like $5k the last month, $1900 on washer and dryer, bout $3k on power tools (planer, jointer, joiner, table saw, chop saw & others) and thinking damn i might have overspent

and lastly, wanting to do a van conversion but today the dealer said whatever hte price is today, expect it to go up 15% next model year or in other words $55k up to 63k for a ram promaster, so fuk that chit, still gonna do a conversion though.

oh and lastly, need to get like 3-4 IT certs to be able to bust six figs with my other credentials and this chit is dry asf

- performing poorly at my job and might get fired. No exciting prospects whatsoever and sick of my current career

- constantly getting injured and can’t train. Recently had stitches for cauliflower ear fixture. Before had a knee issue. Constantly have lower back problems.

- my net worth is at an all time high however I’m down heaps in the market including crypto with some horrible unlucky decisions I’ve made.

Replaying negative things in the past without being able to make amends.
Otherwise no real stress for now, just an unhappy acceptance of life and trying to remain stoic.

Had our second child last week and my girl ended up back in hospital with kidney failure and meningitis meaning I had to look after both our kids and she wasn’t allowed to even see them because of Covid.

Had four jobs due to Covid last year which was pretty stressful since my partner is a stay at home mum so I’m the only income and we had zero safety net financially.

Sold our last house and have been fully refurbishing this one, had to move into it due to the last lockdown in November before it was anything close to done and only finally got a kitchen last week.

Fell out with my parents for good last Autumn.

He gets $2300/month, their rent is $900/month.....she refuses to get rid of her $340/month car payment, refuses to get rid of cable @ $240/month and has a shopping problem. I got her banking password about a year ago (when they moved) and did a breakdown of her spending the previous 4 months, sat down with her and went over it....set up a budget and even had it to where they would save about $100/month.....before I got home (a 3 hour drive) she had changed her password, then when I asked she lied and said it told her to change it, so I asked what the new one was and she told me it was none of my concern. She's been unemployed for almost 3 years, refused to look for a job and now she cant because of how dependent my dad is on her. I've offered to take power of attorney of them and handle all of their finance's, she was offended and basically gave me the "how dare you" talk.

I paid for their downsize move -$3k (before they got the $26k from selling the house), truck, deposit, 1st month, fees, etc, My wife, sister her husband, my 2 buddies and me did it......under the "promise to pay me back"...never saw that money.

Bought their wrecked truck off them for $8k......was worth maybe $5k.

Hospice is paying for all of his meds and nursing, he's about $75k in medical debt, that they're not paying. I know she's got about $4k in the bank currently and she hasn't even tried to figure out how to get a job/work from home or slowed down her spending on dumb chit.

Oh yea....He's 62 and she 53.
