Well thats respectable. I guess my only question is how are you going to retire comfortably? One of my fears is being old, broke without good health insurance and in constant agony. Money definitely makes retirement a lot easier.

Money doesn’t bring happiness but being poor brings misery.

If you’re able to bring in enough money to enjoy life then you’ve officially made it.

Me personally as long as I have a boat, bike, truck and project car I don’t need or want anything else.

If I am a happy person, of course I will.. I will abstain for alcohol and drugs and spend my money wisely. I invest a bit into stocks etc, and plan to do so even more when I have the opportunity.

It's true, happiness comes from within. External objects can't really bring you true happiness. That said, this thread is pure cope. If your boss gave 5 billion dollars instead of a poverty 5% increase, you would be happy af.

Yeah, once you have enough for your lifestyle to be not bad because of poverty or money probs, it’s not a direct relationship. Even then it allows you to do and buy things that may lead to happiness which is just a fleeting emotion and not a constant state. But there are other main contributing factors and money is just one of them.

Personally I don’t have any expensive hobbies, I’m not materialistic at all and I actually enjoy being frugal and bargain hunting. So in an ironic way saving money brings me some form of enjoyment.I do wonder though people who are materialistic and have expensive hobbies that bring them joy, would say money does buy it.

once you no longer have to worry about money its importance to your perceived sense of happiness tails off, happiness is generally a temporary state of mind, what is far more important is a sense of purpose and genuine human connections


plenty of rich people who seem to have it all end up on booze, drugs , go mental and many Rope.....

Yep totally. I spend 90% of my waking hours making money for other people being paid a wage. Would I be happier spending that time with loved ones? Yes obviously
