So when we tell the muscles to contract, they barely do so. But if you have a GOOD mind-muscle connection, like a Mr. O competitor, then you have to train your body to fight off the cramp when you pose. But also, a good mind-muscle connect allows you to be waayyyyyyyyyy stronger

The most I've done are sets of 90 lb. barbel curls in the (6-12) moderate range and I was only between 110-115 lbs. and 110% natural. So, pound for pound, that's hard to beat (again, naturally). And, at my best, did them as compound sets AFTER 35 lb. dumbel curls.... I was doing that B.C.- right before Corona/COVID. ****. You can tell by my pic of my biceps (from the back) if you know anything about bodybuilding.

After deads, rows, pullups, good mornings I'll do 52.5lbs concentration curls to fail. Usually 25-30 reps.

@ 13igAl: Not everything has to be with the strictest, most perfect form. If you're using heavy weight you can't lift slowly on the concentric anyway. As long as you're form is slow and controlled and you use full range of motion on the eccentric (negative) then it counts. Just do a traditional standing barbel or dumbel curl with perfect posture.
No one uses perfectly strict form with any exercise all the time. You can't when you lift heavier weight- especially with dumbell work.

When you learn how to actually properly activate and use your biceps for curls, it should be the same. The only thing that should move on a curl is your lower arm. Not your torso. Not your hips. Not your upper arm. Should be no twisting, no bending, no thrusting.
The best things for biceps are having a support below your tricep and elbow I.e. preacher curls, or having a back and hip support i.e. incline bench curls, or doing cable curls. Standing free weight dumbbell or barbell curls just invite WAY too much room for cheating.

I can curl 60's with almost strict form for 8-12, but I find that the best for growth is 45's for reps and slower, harder contractions. There's a jacked super tan manlet in my gym who curls the 85's with the most ridiculous swing, it achieves nothing.
