2 different things bud, calories in/out only deals with weight loss, not what that weight is comprised of.

Im guessing bc all the protein doesnt get absorbed properly in a shorter window vs all day?
Im fasting bc i like it and its easy for me to do...i dont need or want to mess with making a bunch of meals and snacks.
But have been concerned with preserving muscle so i started trying to consume easy high protein meals...will probably stick with shakes in the morning for breakfast and lunch and stick with my typical OMAD dinner

Also, I’m up to 180-200g of protein a day, but 70+ of that is from ON whey protein. One with water around noon and two scoops after dinner with berries, milk, chia seeds, some gay green powder. Too much whey in a day?

After a certain point, you're either wasting the protein or making yourself fatter. The guy you're responding to is on a pharmacy's worth of illegal drugs (despite being a cop LOL). In his case, more meals is a better because if he needs 500g of protein, that's not going to work in 1-2 big meals. In your case assuming drug free, you don't need 6 meals to get in all your protein for the day.

Ive never looked or felt better than doing IF tbh, and actually, its the easiest diet regime ive ever had to follow. In fact, even when im lazy as fuk and eating everything in sight, i do fasting, and i dont end up like a lardass after a month or two of eating crap. One or 2 weeks of calorie deficit and im right back where i left

Compared with that, the human life is only a blink, just a little time. In that short time - people are born, laugh, cry, fight, are injured, feel joy, sadness, hate someone, love someone. All in just a moment. And then, are embraced by the eternal sleep called death."

Isn't the point of intermittent fasting to control hunger and regulate energy throughout the day, not for weight loss? I feel like a lethargic chit if I eat 3 meals a day. If I eat breakfast especially, it's game over for the rest of the day.

if you're doing fasting purely for fat loss, you're just doing it wrong mate
true OG's of fasting know it's true power is in making you live longer
it's not good for weight loss over time, but a good way to eat and maintain if you like eating like a pig once a day like me

On this board, optimal weight loss would be a concern because of athletic goals and people looking to optimize their bodies. For weight loss in the context of society, it's mostly people over 30% bodyfat who barely have any muscle to lose. Most lean losses for them are not even muscle

Calories in vs calories out is all that matters when it comes to gaining or losing weight. Macros are important for performance, and aesthetics.

ah nice. an actual lifting thread on the misc! I've always had my best results with calories in, calories out. But only if I'm being active and keep the metabolism up. 34 now, and still work at calories in, calories out. But gotta pay more attention to my diet so that my hormones aren't all jacked up. Back in my 20s, no sleep, partying and lifting seemed to be all I needed.

Pretty sure our early ancestors just ate whenever they had food to eat. Those in hunter/gatherer societies typically graze throughout the day/all day long on whatever they found. And in later years people ate about 3 meals per day as a rule.
From what I've been able to figure out seems like a medium size breakfast to fuel the day. A light lunch or snack mid- day. And a big meal in the evening/for supper. Which is what our grand grandpa's and grandfathers did.
