Norwood 2.5 at age 28 you say. Hmmmm. Let’s see.

I was a stage 4 Norwood with the crown/bald spot being about 2.5 inches in diameter. Got a 3,168 graft FUT (strip method) transplant 6 months ago. Im 32. I’m making outstanding progress 6 months in and go for my follow up in 3 months. It really takes about a year to 1.5 years to see full results. My hairline is already almost fully restored and grew in fast as FUK. And still more is growing. The crown however, is gonna take more time because the skin on that area of the scalp is thicker.

I would say maybe try to hold off another several years so you can lose more hairs, and thus have a larger quantity of grafts transplanted. Because if you do too few grafts too soon and continue balding behind the transplanted hairs, you’ll need a second transplant too soon. But it’s up to you.

Don’t shy away from the FUT “strip method.” It’s NOT an outdated procedure and in fact it’s still the gold standard in quality AND quantity. My surgeon stitched me up so well you can barely see the ear to ear scar with a short hair cut. It’s maybe 1-2mm thick. Plus it preserves your donor hair in the back if/when you need another transplant. The FUE method takes up too much surface area of the donor hair in the back, thus limiting your options down the road.

I won’t touch that propecia poison ever. I use a Low Level Laser Cap every other day, Rogaine on the crown, and 2-4 PRP sessions a year.

Try rogaine, it worked on a friend of mine. You’d have to wait 3 or so months to see results and you’d have to keep taking it or your new hair gains will fall out again

Also I recommend you combine it with a dermaroller to stimulate your scalp

And use nizoral shampoo

I'm early 30s and NW2 at max. Not even worried. If I hit my 30s with this much hair I figure my genetics are not summoning the reaper, at least not until my elder years where I couldn't care about hair anyway.


Why meet a surgeon now? Wait until international travel resumes, do a transplant in Turkey for a few grand.
