Kind of a shame that this is what it takes for killers who hide behind a badge to face consequences, and the whole racial element doesn't sit well with me because it's not just black people who suffer from bad cops, but maybe this event opens it up for more criminals in blue to see justice.

22.5 years. But as a practical matter, he will serve 2/3 in jail. That means 15-17 years in jail, and the rest of the time will be paroled.

As for why Noor got 12.5 years - didn't Noor get a convicted of a lesser charge? And there were aggravating factors in Chauvin's sentencing (i.e. particular cruelty)

A little harsh, IMO, but honestly not that out of whack compared to what he did. I always thought while clearly not murder, it was negligence on his part. Although, someone told me he immediately called an ambulance? Did he? If so, who knows. What did the toxology reports show? They guy had lethal levels of fent in him, no? Lethal doses cause lack of breathing? Which he was complaining of the second they approached him? Do people in this thread honestly think he died from the knee?
