I would love to see the misc thrive once more. The memories I have here. I think I was like 15 when I first logged onto the original boards (these ones are the ones they upgraded to in 2001). The golden age of the internet for sure. It's been sad seeing the misc decline.

The database of old threads have all been deleted. These threads were a goldmine of information and data.

Moment of honesty here:

I'm actually glad the misc is now hidden and some "old posts" are starting to disappear. I had a lot of fun over the years but I was starting to cringe at the thought of someone finding my misc post history who isn't aweir.

Could you imagine trying to explain that you didn't actually get a blowjob from your buddy while laughing and saying "brojob! no homo!" And "no, I'm not really Indian. But let me tell you..."

We will see what happens next. I thought taking us off the regular internet and in our own little world was possibly the "final solution" and the misc will die off naturally over time. But I guess OP brings up a strong point that new ownership or any other kind of variable could mean that they push the misc out the window. It will be sad to see it go and I will never forget my time here. It was much needed when I came across it.

The misc is far, far from perfect, but it’s one of the few places I can go on that isn’t incredibly PC and you can go on to see discussions that would be be immediately banned on the popular forms of social media. It’s honestly pretty refreshing, particularly these days; this place got me through some of the more ridiculous events of last year to now, and then some.

But this place is too problematic, and society is at a point in time where having controversial viewpoints gets you labeled unfavorably and has your livelihood and well-being put into jeopardy. It’s no wonder BB.com is trying to quietly sweep this place under the rug.

Been around since like 2011. Was doing no contact before I knew it was a thing, then misc showed me I wasn't an outlier. About to go nc on misc to look alpha before it can go nc on me.
