Yeah, this pretty much. My most recent ex-gf had an issue with my drinking. I realized that sometimes when I intend to get a buzz I end up blacking out. Then I wondered why I cared if I was buzzed or drunk. Then I realized it was the gf, so I dumped her.

really I only drink moderately, but I also puff the magic dragon and that's when the black-outs happen... But I'm medical, so it's medicine. right?

Just lmao if you tell me I'm wrong.
I'd put Quebec way higher, maybe third. Looking at it now I'm panicking thinking about the order, lol. The Pod first for sure though.

You are lying to yourself.

You make the decision to drink long before you go to the gas station. ****, long before you get in your car.

Pretending this is some type of magic warp in time is simply a transparent and obvious attempt at deflecting accountability and responsibility.

That being said, alcoholism (and addiction in general) is literal insanity.

People drink alcohol and use drugs long after what most people would consider a rock bottom. They are not ignorant about the negative consequences of their behavior, they feel it. At least until the next chemically induced dopamine rush.

Fat people know they are fat and they hate themselves for it.

Alcoholics know and understand they are self destructive to the point of indirect suicidal behavior, but the insanity helps us ignore it.

Denial is both one of the best and worst natural human tendencies that we exhibit as a species on a regular basis.

So stop being in denial and lying to yourself.

You choose to drink long before you get in the car to go get a drink. This is not an opinion or speculation. You will agree after being exposed to wording.

I appreciate simplicity. So make it simple. When you get in your car, say one of these two things out loud....

“I choosing to go get alcoholic beverages to drink”.

“I am choosing to not get an alcoholic beverage”.

Then do that thing.

If you say the second phrase, but then pretend to be in some type of delusional autonomous uncontrollable state, and find yourself in a gas station cooler, or swiping your card, say it again.

I am choosing to drink. I don’t have to. I could not do this right now. I am making the decision to do it. Because you are. And denying that is lying to yourself.

I strongly support you and your process towards sobriety, but it is your process, or lack of.

Be real with yourself bro.

You don’t black out at the gas station and you don’t black out the multiple hours before hand when you make the decision to do it.

Accept responsibility.

Personally I am much more forgiving and accepting of people who accept responsibility but still fail to meet whatever standard, than those who pretend meeting that standard was beyond their conscious decision making process.

My opinion doesn’t matter. I don’t matter. I hope this message does matter. It is not my message. It is a message.

Do with it what you will.
Do you know you’re a ******* and hate yourself for it?

I understand you took offense because of my fat comment, since you are fat.

This type of defensive emotional response is normal in weak people who can’t accept responsibility for their own behavior.

Wish the best for you, but I doubt you will ever come close to achieving that.

You are capable of achieving greatness. Just to let you know. However it requires personal accountability.

I’d say if drinking got in the ways of the things you love it could lead to a problem.

So why the defensive posture? You made it.

You literally have had to agree with my sentiment in order to achieve that.

I was just thinking about it and dont know any competitive bodybuilders who are alcoholics, plenty who have done drugs or died of overdoses but no alcoholics.

Bro if you can't hold down a relationship because you drink too much then it's definitely your problem.

No one was forcing you to get black out drunk on the regular. A lot of people have relationships fall apart because of drinking.

I posted this in the ankle thread 2 weeks ago

It's been raining non-stop and this was the best I could do before it downpored.

Edit: This was the first time I skated a ledge in a few weeks after wrecking my ankle. I'm counting it.

2-3 weeks isnt long enough to get your brain right after drinking consistently for so long.

It can take a while.
