Helicopters are expensive, but I think there are some you can get for about 150k, I'd definitely take out a 15 year loan at that price. The real killer seems to be maintenance.

Rarely do I see a thread on the misc about flying...and just as I show interest in it, one pops up. I've been thinking about getting my single engine two seater pilots license for a couple months, and at $10k for the entire course its surprisingly cheap.

Yeah, there's not much to do with it, aside from transporting packages or touristy chit, but its still a useful skill to have, and its always been on my bucket list.

I know we're talking about helicopters, but I've driven through Cameron Park Estates. Its one of the most asesthetic neighborhoods in the country. Basically every one has a single engine plane garage to park their plane.

Yup, I've been wanting to fly since I was a kid. Getting a private pilot's license seems fairly cheap and easy to get, it's the Commercial side that gets expensive. They'd be pretty pointless to own, it's not like you can fly to work. But a man can dream. Maybe we can fly rich folks around or something?

My one and only time in a helicopter was a few years ago back in Florida. Was on work vacation and a couple of us went to this guy who did flying tours.
