My great grandad smoked a pipe passed some down as an heirloom.
Grandad on my other side smoked tobacco til about age 50.
Something people did/do out in the country not sure if they do now it skipped a generation.
It's my last bad habit really but not sure if a bad habit or a tradition.
Find it relaxing and it also sharpens my mind a bit, but I figure it might kill me if I do it too long.
Always get a huge bag or sometimes a tin of basic burley nothing super fancy or anything.
Not a lot of flavor or anything, pretty light and inexpensive which is basically my only criteria.
They say it's something people do when they are the type to think a lot, but I think if I thought a bit more I'd quit.
Then again I think a bit more and come to a different conclusion so you know figure the question still needs solving.

It's funny you make this thread because I'm about to go outside and smoke a bowl of tobacco.
Gonna listen to the cicadas sing, they tend to sing this time of year.
They say cicadas come out to sing in the dog days before the first cold days of the year.
Just think they sound nice really.

I never have before but I would try it just to see what it's like. I've only smoked a cigar like once or twice before.

I never really was taught how to pack it so it kept going out on me but i had some flavorful tobacco.
my dad told me the old school cigar smokers will put whats left of their cigar into a pipe to finish it when they smoke it down until they can't hold it.
i guess cigar butts were something you didn't do back then?

Plus you get to smell and sample it at a shop. My lounge will let you sample a pack in your pipe.

Tried it a few times actually since I briefly smoked cigars. It's actually quite enjoyable and I do recall liking the flavored tobacco and the smell.

I’d go outside and work on my chipping and enjoy the aroma.
