Didn't they say this would replace the A-10 in the ground support role? Jfl@ that, cutting edge, super expensive fragile fighter doing ground support.

And strong lol@China, the country that wore masks before covid was even a thing because it was so polluted lmao I was like lmao.

jfl@ using ww2 fighters when you could use ww1 fighters, or the Wright brothers' plane.

No. WW2 fighter has more speed and climb, which can be useful. But they are only a tenth the cost of a cheap modern fighter.

Yeah and they apparently have the same payload for missiles. And guidance systems.

General Tuna ladies and gentlemen, China's #1 military commander.

brb can't climb to good altitude like normal jet fighter to have better view of targets
brb launching AMRAAM from a P-51
brb it just flew off all crazy because no avionics to lock a target

Climb and payload doesn't really do much in terms of taken out other jet fighters.

It's the sophistication of the missile that matters.

That's why I'm a general and youre a ****git.

A missile needs guidance systems and radar from the host aircraft.

Climb allows you to have a greater view because you are at a higher altitude, and payload allows you to carry more than one missile which you will need because this plan has a 99.9% chance of failing. And once you put the required avionics into the P-51, it will probably weigh so much that it can't carry anything.

Modern aerial engagements are mostly BVR anyways. You need a solid avionics suite and targeting pods for the high end fight. A 35 or 22 is dropping 3rd/4th gen fighters like flies without ever being seen if the exercise or scenario involves full capabilities for both sides.

That can all be retrofitted inside a ww2 fighter plane.

When modern "fighter" jets go on a mission, it's specific. Meaning you are taking out a land based building or you are after other jet fighters. Maximum payload will shorten your flight time, and land based buildings will already have surface to air missiles.

WW2 fighter are just as capable as jet fighters when equipped properly.

"At $33,000 per flight hour, F-35A only costs $10,000 more to operate than the much more mature F-16, a fighter that offers a fraction of the wartime effectiveness. F-35A is already in the range of most F-15 fighters in the fleet, which vary in cost per flight hour from $29,000 to $38,000." - fuk going green, im getting a f35

There are other types of modern jets, not just "fighters", pretty much all of them are multi-role. And the plane wouldn't even be able to fly when you add all the guidance systems and radar lol, maybe it could drive on the ground, you'd have a propeller-driven surface to air missile platform lol. You would have to completely redesign it with jet engines and stuff like that because there is no room for it, and then you just have a modern jet fighter, which we already have, congratulations.

And the kill ratio of missiles against a "ww2 fighter" would pretty much be 100% because of the lack of maneuverability compared to modern fighters. Countermeasures are not enough.

Obviously he's a troll but it's still pretty funny that he didn't pick something more reasonable to troll about.
