I thought the movie was pretty funny

I was inebriated on something 100% legal in my house when I was watching it with my fiance and laughed a whole bunch

the fukking weasel killed me and the just random ass dry humor

the only reason it tanked is because it was on HBO for free and without Biden bucks and inflation everyone is broke now and would rather just watch it at home for free.

I really don't understand, do people think they're entitled to everyone liking or going to see their movie? I'm an author that writes in a niche genre, it would be absurd for me to be angry at people who don't like reading dark fantasy novels and blaming them for me not making millions of dollars on a book. Wtf is with this clown world? Should I blame my failures on anti-vaxxers too? Like wtf?

It's the double standard that annoys me. And him talking about raping little boys a dozen times is way worse than Roseanne's "Planet of the Apes" joke was, IMO. But it's like he got cancelled JUST SO THEY COULD UNCANCEL HIM, then rub it in everyone's faces.
And they couldn't just uncancel him, no. They had to throw him on a huge, unwarranted pedestal and lionize him and shove him down our throats so much, we're to the point they are acting like it's asocial obligation to not only get vaccinated, but also to support James Gunn, or you're some kind of anti-vax bigot Nazi or something.

Might have to add another form of entertainment to the 'do not watch' list.

Netflix is already on there after showing Cuties, these sick fuks aren't even hiding the cp anymore.

at no point should you have taken this movie seriously though

the whole movie is just a joke, and when you are watching it you should be watching it like you would watch Tropic Thunder. If you watch Tropic Thunder expecting a war movie, thats like watching The Suicide Squad expecting a super hero movie.

I mean come on guys it was supposed to be stupid AF but still threw in the dry humor which is very popular.

Also you have to admire how well Margot Robbie just nails the Harley Quinn character. I doubt it would be as big of a cultural phenom if her acting in the role wasnt so well. I mean shes a legit 9/10 one of the hottest actresses in the world and she can actually act.

I get what you are saying but in a lot of ways, the Suicide Squad is pretty similar to James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy films. A lot of jokes but there are still times when things are serious. Those guys aren’t really heroes either and its full of Gunn’s juvenile humor but they still have respect for the villains. They aren’t defeated so easily and in such a ridiculous way.

It took the power of an infinity stone to kill the Ronan the Accuser. It took a big epic fight and planting a crazy bomb at the core of Ego the Living Planet to kill him. Rats shouldn’t be able to do anything to Starro and unless that javelin was some magical item from the comics that I am unaware of, it really should be able to pierce him either.

Maybe I’m just over James Gunn’s films but it really didn’t do anything for me. Maybe its WB. They’ve fuked up DC films so many times at this point that its hard to care.

I see your point. People are definitely different how they enjoy their comedy. Some people think SNL is hilarious when i can't stand most of it. I thought most of the jokes in that movie were corny as fuk. There were a couple good things (can't remember).
