I voted for Desantis and like most of the stuff he does, but I highly disagree with this. Municipalities/counties should be able to make laws that they think are best for their citizens without bigger government coming in to stop them.

Seat belts
Child bicycle helmets
School compulsory laws
The law that requires me to have a fence around my backyard pool
The law that requires me to have a ladder at the deep end of my pool

I'm sure there are many more that I can't think of off the top of my head. These are all laws relating to preventable measures that the government thinks will keep kids safe. But as a parent, if I don't want to put my kid in a car seat or let them ride a bike without a helmet, shouldn't that be the parent's right?
