M's and AMG's are in a completely different class than what you normally see on the roads. Most people brag about their BMW's and Mercedes when in reality they're just base model entry level cars these brands offer. Worse performance, interior and reliability than comparable cars from other manufacturers. People buy these because of the perceived status they think the badge gives them but they're all chit tier cars

how about the bmw 340? Straight six turbo that can get you 450+ hp with a simple tune and a charge pipe.

Not an m car, not very expensive. How is that a bad car?

And it goes without say but the interior finishes (look and quality) you find in a bmw or merc, you wont find in american or japanese cars.

The CLA 250 and 2 Series Beamers are garbage. I’ve test driven both and a Kia Optima looks better inside at 20k less wtf

They are expensive to maintain.

Have you noticed that most used German cars you see for sale usually have around 50-60k miles? Thats usually when the warranty is up and people dont want the headache. It might be cheaper to fix in Europe but its not over here.

you do realize that these "188 hp" models are the norm/base models/most used in Europe?
its only in America where they dont offer these base models so that they can get suckers to pay for their more expensive overpowered models, the fukk does an average joe need more than 200 hp for lol, come to Europe and you see we all get by with it completely fine, we dont jack off ourselves by having a 1 second faster 0-60 time

Got an A4 used with like 60k miles in my early 20s.

Several years later at closing in on 100k miles I had just finished sinking like 10k into repairs and maintenance and was able to trade it into a dealer for my new accord for like 800 bucks so they could scrap it.

Also remember a crack head tried to get in once and broke a window, ended up having to replace the entire fukking door…

Now I understand why my dad loves Audi so much, he sells every car he gets at 30k miles.

owned tons of cars over the years, cheapest cars to own have been Honda & GM. currently drive a bmw and honda, honda has needed maybe $100 in maintenance in 2.5 years of ownership and bmw has needed a TON but the BMW was 20x cheaper initial cost to purchase... it's a trade off, the bmw is a blast to drive. older bmw, mine is e46 you can fix yourself and parts are dirt cheap like a honda, just needs more parts and more often but very cheap and easy to work on yourself. i would not own one newer than 2005 lol

I drive a car that's more than 10 years old because it's running great, has low miles and I don't see reason to invest in a depreciating asset to impress anyone else. Perhaps if I were single or really enjoyed cars I would see it differently but I choose to put my money into other things.
