Riddle me this. No one disagrees that Russia gives 0 fuks about human rights yes? Then how come Russia couldn't wipe out the Afghans in the 80s when they had their war?
I haven't studied that conflict really at all but that was at least in part a proxy war, it's not as if the Russians were only fighting the Afghans considering we were arming them.

Bump, I stand by my dire prediction although I hope I am completely wrong. Would love to see some humanity from the Taliban but it would be a first. As awful as they are, I can not see people like this responding to weakness in any way other than a show of force/dominance, which bodes poorly for the poor souls left behind there. I hope they're able to get out as many as they possibly can before 9/1.
