when i was under 18 i didnt have more than 3 hours to play videogames..brb school and sports..

how can they regulate this?

Plenty of different ways to combat lazy parenting.


Mandatory after school programs for physical education or life learning.

Mandatory volunteer work in order graduate highschool or mandatory military service.

Plenty of ways to keep kids busy and learn discipline. You donโ€™t have to be a psychiatrist or doctor to know kids sitting all day playing video games, on social media, and eating crappy food is bad for their development.

This type of micromanaging of society doesn't work in the long run.

China feels that people having free will is a problem. They feel that if the experts just told everyone what to do, and when to do it, all these "problems" would be fixed. History has proven that the more top down micromanagement the more problems. You'll need more resources to be sure everyone is doing what they are supposed to be doing. You are penalizing those who simply are being human. Taking people's free will, killing initiative. Resources making sure everyone is falling in line takes from productivity. Allowing people to cheat is going to corrupt the whole thing, so youll need even more management. Then there are the problems associated with it all.

My understanding is onlinr gaming is similiar to south korea, which requires id to play

China is making the gaming provider cut them off.

Of course if your parents or siblings will let you use their account you can get around it. If not then they can enforce it.

These bans are just for online gaming.

From a non political perspective, it is pretty good. It will help youth use their time better and be more productive to give themselves a good future. The reality is that it's a iron fist coming down on the public to display power that not even parents of the kids can enforce. It's inhumane to tell ppl how ppls children should use their time. Itโ€™s only for online gaming and honestly itโ€™s a good change as its most likely to target esports.

Esports is massive and only growing in Asia especially China but their balance/ ethic is ridiculous too with it, 10hr+ days etc. Of practice Is just expected.

Itโ€™s not like physical sports either where your body actually gets stronger etc, all that gaming makes your skill better but takes its toll physically and mentally.
