Nearly died once in a pretty awful, slow way(choking). Could legit not breathe for 3+ minutes. The things that go through your mind, the thought that you were living your last moments, with your wife and child looking on... I can't begin to describe how something like that changes you.

You realize what is important, and that life can be taken from you at any second. There's a lot of cliche bullchit about "live your life to its fullest", but you don't fully understand until you have an experience like that.

Yeah, I guess there are good and bad to both paths. If you suffer through an illness or injury before dying it sucks to suffer, but you have time to say what needs to be said and perhaps come to peach with it(though I imagine it’s like a roller coaster where you’re at peace with fate one day and extremely depressed about it the next). If you go out quickly you don’t have to suffer as much, but probably a more more loose ends being contemplated in that short window.

Its not really the death part as it is the moments prior.

I imagine it being like the moments before giving a big speech and you're deathly afraid of public speaking. Tons of build up and anticipation, then the speech is nothing and you feel great afterwards.

Not particularly am I scared of dying. I think knowing how is probably the most nerve wracking part, but death comes for us all either way. No sense in worrying about it . Just Another part of life's cycle, we're just not active participants in it.

not really. of course we are all scared of taking a journey, possibly a painful journey all by ourselves. That said we all have to take it.

I am oddly convinced that i can only die by drowning so 99% of my life is carefree. of course i am drawn to the water for some reason so not sure if I have some sort of weird deathwish thing going or I just like mocking fate.

There's a level of optimism and logic that I have innate within myself to attempt to latch onto positive thoughts.

When facing this question about "Are you afraid to die?" my brain actually goes to: "No because after death I won't be afraid. I'll feel nothing." So am I afraid to lose my sense of feeling? No because by the time that happens there's nothing to fear. Basically just restated the same thing twice but you get the point.

I am definitely afraid of pain and suffering though.

A lot of people deal with this. It’s called existential dread/ depression.

Just don’t think about it. Stay busy. Work towards goals. No drugs.

I get it once in a while but just remember we can’t do anything about it. So why worry ? We will always know the unknown cause worrying about it just makes your time her ****

Now if it’s affecting you ever day to where you see no point to life then I suggest seeing a therapist

The older I get, the less worried I am about it.

I'm not worried about what happens to me when I die, I'm pretty confident it's like waking up from a really vivid dream you thought was real.

I'm only concerned with how my loved ones would cope if I were to die before my time.

But ultimately, whatever happens to me will also be their path, and when they one day die, they will also wake up from the dream.

It's all pretty neat tbh.
