Ugly Monday! Major indices are down sharply but tech is taking the brunt of it – mostly for the same reasons back in April

1: The rise of rates, and the fear of rising rates in the future.

2: Hedge funds are targeting a lot of these names and driving the price down by heavily shorting the stocks.

3: Reverting back to the mean – a lot of these names had huge run-ups over the last year and perhaps got a bit stretched.


It feels like we might go lower in the short-term, but I am expecting a rally into yearend – November/December and even into January.

Crashes are fantastic opportunities but pool your money some place safe. BTC will take a tumble with the rest of it andthenyou dump the cash in it for the sweet gains.

The endless printing combined with COVID restrictions causing labor and tangible shortages, with Evergrande as the icing on the cake is bound to have some very dire, unavoidable consequences. I don't think it's going to hit just yet though. Fed will continue to BBBBBBBRRRRRRRRRRRRRT a little while longer.

generally it is best to hold onto as little cash as possible and keep as much of your assets as possible allocated into investments that will appreciate over time (in other words, not holding cash)

Cashcels always lose in the long run. The best has been the past ~18 months... cash has lost so much value relative to investment-grade assets that there is truly no question as to which investor is winning (between the one 100% in stocks and the one who carries even 10-20% of their net worth in cash)

100% Agree with what dis brah is saying right here. I'm actually mad at myself a bit because I could have made a ton more if I had merely kept 2000-3000$ in my chequing and invested the rest. I invested 15 000 in the stock market when the pandemic started and have made 12 000$ so far. According to my Investment Broker APP, my 12 month trailing return is 63.67%. I naively kept 17 000$ at all times in my chequing. I would probably have made 20 000+ if I had invested most of my money.
