These two are affected by hemo-dilution/concentration...if you do these fasted/no water, the values will be higher

I'm not entirely sure what a high RDW means except that your red blood cells are of different size...which could mean a slew of things like thalassemia, iron deficiency, etc.

Can you post your values, be sure to include MCV (mean corpuscular volume).

Love Aiken. I got stuck there for a few days during the Atlanta Ice storm several years ago. Spent the whole time getting drunk and getting laid.

Cereal answer: lose weight and get your hormones checked.

If you're on vitamin T, lower your intake for a while or go donate blood.

so the first step is being honest with yourself. Even if you had all of these things going for you, most people tend to underestimate their body fat % rather than overestimate. Truth is even if you lost 40 lbs, you'd probably still be obese (25%+ BF).

Walking is a good start, start off slowly and do what you can reasonably manage. I probably wouldn't run as cardio given how overweight you are. You can progress to speed walking and what not as well. I'd also recommend other forms of cardio like rowing/airbike as those are less hard on your joints and you get a decent cardio workout. Do what you can reasonably sustain for 30 minutes, if that is walking so be it, but it's progress over time is what you really want to see.

Set a goal for yourself, , i.e: 5 lbs/month of weight loss. By then you will be 240 lbs in a year which isn't bad. Maybe get that down to 220 and you're probably pretty good. No need to rush it, go on crash diets, do hours and hours of cardio, etc. Somewhere along the road I would get on a weight training program, strength is good and you want to keep muscle as well.
I kinda started off by telling a little bit of my story, and fudging up parts of it.

2014: 6'4 460-480lbs probably well over 50% bf
______Decided to make changes for myself, and my son
2015: Meet a fellow miscer who stepped up on stage a few times who moved to Charleston area
______We gym it up daily, meal prep, etc etc......I hit a plateau at 350-360lbs @30ish% bf
______He helps switch my diet and routine up, no changes......tells me to get bloods
______Bloods say 750 Estrogen, 60 test, free test was 16 if I recall correctly
______MRI, multiple appointments, Dr cant seem to find a rhyme or reason, my buddy helps me kill the estrogen, boost test
______I see my Dr regularly to check bloods 2-4 times a year, depending on feeling, doses, etc etc......killing estrogen killed me inside
______Once estrogen gets down to 75 I feel pretty dam amazing.....depression goes away, general sense of well being is amazing af, everything's beautiful and vivid, life is amazing
2019: Covid hits, I am still feeling good, gyming every day, bench is 38x, 46x squats, I can't deadlift unless someone were to teach me, it feels awkward af
______Gyms shut down, I try to make due, then I slip up and keep eating as if I am gyming, but not gyming, gain back 20lbs over 2020 of pure fat
2021: Hitting it hard af the first part of the year, now I am slipping again

I have older pics of me at 30% or so BF judge and hate all you want, just here to reestablish some inspiration and help with bloods.

AGAIN: I may be leaving somethings out, not frauding at all.....I don't have a reason to lie about this. I am a huge proponent for men and women to get their hormones checked. My diet as a kid was my mom never cooked and my dad was in the Navy so always out......taco bell, burger king, kfc......I was a tall fatfuk and still am a fatfuk but working on it.......

I eat 1.5lbs of beef a day and 160g uncooked cream of rice from the high iron box and my counts were all fine and I don't donate blood.

Feel like something else is going on here.

HCT at 61% is time to be a little concerned.

I have not seen mine above 54%

High rbc from androgen use is not the same as polycythemia.

If you are not using androgens and have those numbers, you need to be concerned.

I even switched to all chicken and turkey breasts to see if red meat was causing it about 2 years ago.....no changes happened.

Waiting for test/estrogen results to come back to see if I am too high....

Maybe so.

Have you ever been screened for hemochromatosis OP? It can be genetic.

https://hemochromatosishelp.com/iron...-symptoms-men/

Might not be it, but it is a condition that can affect hormones too.
The excess iron of hemochromatosis causes the male sex hormones not to operate correctly—leading to hypogonadism, reduction of testosterone, and all those problems that men would rather not have.

Thanks for pics op. You’re a big dude and look better than expected, but you’re way closer to 30% than 20%. Grats on losing almost 200lbs though. Best of luck with lowering your numbers and stay with it

Thanks, but that pic is from 2017-2018ish......look better than that. Just hit a snag when gyms shut down so mostly just added some pounds to my gut.

I will need to get gyno surgery at some point as well......

yup
if this was as simple as OP is running 1g of EQ and not donating blood we would have a reason to tell OP hey man maybe go donate some blood. Beyond that should probably ask the doctor unless someone has had a very similar issue.

You need to post MCV to complete the picture.

Jumping the gun on this one. Usually presents after the age of 40. Let's see MCV, and if you have iron studies please post those, too. (Iron, ferritin, TIBC)

There's not enough information to really tell if anything is actually wrong. It would be good to see LDH, hepatic panel and bmp just to make sure, but you should really talk to someone who's gone through residency training.
