it felt like an older era bond film like Dr. No which is also a favorite on mine.

Moore- The Man With the Golden Gun- Superb villain Scaramanga, great soundtrack throughout, good locations (and actually filmed on location) and interesting combination of camp and seriousness. Runner up: The Spy who loved me (most people probably consider this the best, and it was absolutely a bigger-scale film, I believe the budget was twice that of TMWTGG, and it shows: huge sets and larger cast etc. But for some reason Im just more nostalgic for TMWTGG
Dalton- Licence to Kill- Dalton pulls off the serious/revenge role very well imo. Great villain.
Brosnan- The World is Not Enough- Brosnan looks his best in this film and gives his best performance (nailed the banker scene at the beginning and throughout), interesting villain/great actor in Reynard , complex character in Elektra, casino scene was done well- simple yet suspenseful. Runner Up: Die Another Day, first half was brilliant, second half was so-so.
Craig- Quantum of Solace- more in the artistic direction, great visually and good tone, somewhat realistic plot for a modern-day Bond, Craig still going great here. Runner Up: Casino Royale- has the Fleming factor.

License to Kill is an absolutely awesome Bond film.
Agreed with Golden Gun - Scaramanga is my favorite Bond villain.
Also fuk you OP he ran across a pond full of alligators. Or at least his stunt double did.

He wasn't as good as Sean Connery or Daniel Craig. His Bond was more goofy/funny, which at the time got criticized in comparison to Connery's Bond. He isn't the worst James Bond, but still ranks amongst the best.
Personally, Pierce Brosnan is still the worst Bond ever (imo), despite him being the first Bond I saw/knew in childhood.

Craig was never allowed to be Bond, he was an emotional mopey version of Bourne with the looks of a Ukrainian bouncer. He should have been henchman #2 at best, ffs they had to artificially turn Mikkelsen, Bardem and Malek ugly with scars because they would have looked better than him.
Bond was in his early days in CR, ok. QoS was an overall incompetent and forgettable movie but they were hit with the writer's strike and Craig had to write parts of the script because there was no one else to do it. The point was that Bond finally got closure on the Vesper schit and started fuking up Quantum big time, so there was a lot of promise that we would now be in full swing.
Then suddenly in the next movie - Skyfall - Craig Bond is treated as an alchie aging loser at the ripe old age of 42 and is explicitly shown to fail all of his tests and tasks. Well except for the recovering the NATO agent list part - the MacGuffin behind the whole plot that gets dropped as soon as we we reach Silva - but only because it was Silva's intention all along.
Spectre was horrible since he was clearly done with the whole thing, and NTTD is just a massive blob of AIDS and stupidity. They bring back the Vesper schit as an artificial and stupid way to divide Bond and Madeleine, because it's totally in character for anyone, especially Bond to mope over a chick who he stretched for a week 15 years ago. This after explicitly getting closure and tying it off 3 movies ago.
Just no.

Also Walken's reactions in that same scene when he's looking bond up in kgb computer system...was great.
Bond always needs a great villain to play against and walken nailed his role.
I thought dalton was underrated also.
Living daylights was my first Bond movie in a theater with friends.

The quntiessential bond who's most similar to the original character:
_-_Profile.jpg)
Not to take anything away from Sean Connery, but Pearce was as smooth and refined a bond as one could hope for.
Craig was made to be too brash and incredibly rough around the edges with emotional instability, and is the more extreme of the bunch.
If we had Brosnan today, he'd be the perfect fit for Bond, with amazing movies.

I actually thought octopuccy was decent with an intricate plot, but Man With The Golden Gun through Moonraker are probably my fav Moore Bond films (and yes, these movies have their clown moments as well, such as sheriff J.W. pepper in MWTGG and the whistle, and in MR the double-taking pigeon and the entire space laser battle. As for TSWLM, Im sure there are some clown moments, I just cant think of any off the top of my head).

my dad grew me up on Moore bonds and on my own i grew up with Bronson bonds so i always liked them more than the other Pre-Craig bonds.
Overall i have to say Craig was the best bond. not saying his movies were better but i think he captured more elements of masculinity than any other bond did.
unfortunately this debate ends here. after this latest bond its a guarentee the next bond will be a woman or a gay or a tranny
