Maybe it's just the photos...but you barely look any different at all. Honestly, just looks like you took some myspace angle pics..

It’s only 10mm, but you can tell more by looking at the apex of the neck and lower jaw first and then the length to the end of the chin.

What are you going to tell your future wife and son when he inherits your actual chin?
The closer we approach the uncertainty of life's ending the more we wish to trade all of the things we have acquired in exchange for all of the things we have lost: wealth for youth, knowledge for fresh curiosity, resignation for hope. We'd trade our wisdom for new experiences, but it is wisdom that will teach us that at the end of the road the only new experience is death.

I'm trying to understand why not having a perfect chin in your mind bothered you so much that you had to have surgery.

I'm sure nobody in public even cared except for some girls who didnt find it attractive, but you stated it was not because of women.

What else in your body isn't perfect or balanced that needs to be fixed? What will you focus on next? How will you react when you start to lose your hair and start balding? Getting wrinkled skin?

What caused you to "hate" your own chin? From the pictures I saw it looked like a "weak" jaw I admit, but nothing to think twice about.

Nice to hear, that part worries me tbh

I was thinking of jaw surgery like a BSSO. Double jaw was mentioned by my ortho but that scares me.

Yes.... You can't achieve Chad status without proper forward growth in the chin and a masculine jawline...

Just imagine, had Elliot been born with just a little more jawbone and chin, a horrific tragedy could have been avoided...

There’s actually little pain associated with this, more just discomfort. The aesthetic last 3 days which is supplemented with codeine and paracetamol

You could literally say this for any form of self improvement. You look like you lift, so why did you start going to the gym, why not be happy with your body to begin with? Everyone wants to portray their best self.

This has been the only thing in my life that’s bugged me, granted it was something I accepted a long time ago (I.e. not having the jaw surgery at 16), but seeing that this was a straightforward, relatively risk free procedure, I didn’t want to regret not changing that. Balding/wrinkled skin, unfortunately are those things we have to get on with as we age, but it still doesn’t stop me from using moisturisers/sun cream and having a healthy diet to slow that down, I won’t be doing anything extravagant to change that, nor will I be having any other procedures.

Why did you have it removed? I know the recovery for implant and genioplasty is exactly the same, so reversal is pretty uncommon.

It’s one of the other, jaw surgery would have corrected both the overbite and the retrogenia (to a degree), however I didn’t fancy breaking and weakening my jaw permanently for cometic reasons. The only reason for jaw surgery at my age now, would have been if I had any issues chewing or talking, which I don’t.

Explain more, what’s going on that still makes you feel insecure? For me, this has been the only thing I’ve wanted to change, I can’t say I’m sat here feeling insecure about anything else.

most people that have chin projection because of an underbite, not bone mass in the chin.

Chin projection isn't that necessary, as long as it's not recessed.

Brad Pitt has a good chin without much projection, perfect example

no one would say he has a bad chin, even though is does not project heaps

You just find new chit man. Like having gyno since puberty is way more visible vs a weak chin (honestly I wouldn't have even noticed this on you if i saw you IRL). Once I got rid of it and wore shirts in peace i felt so relived, but you eventually find something else you dont like about your self. It becomes an obsession. See Joan Rivers, Michael Jackson, etc. Those are extreme cases, but you easily see how fast $, and some time can change your appearance and we are our own toughest, and worst critics. Always

For example. My left shoulder is a different size than my right. It drives me nuts. Im weaker as well on my left. This is due to a very bad car accident. I can tell when I look in the mirror. No one else can if I ask them. Im not going to break my shoulder to let it heal properly just for looks.

Anyway, at the end of the day theres only one person who needs to be happy and thats you. If this is what makes you happy and you feel good about it go for it. Im all for spending $$$ on your appearance if you can afford it. Im on TRT, so we are all vain in our own ways I guess.
