I have said this about women and men - we all have our standards and what we like, its just that men end up realizing earlier (at least some) that nothing is "perfect".

For example, I like a girl with more meat on her bone (healthy body type), but if I met a girl I really connected with and she was a bit skinnier, I wouldn't just dump her.

Girls on the other hand have this standard they want and will not budge from it until it's too late, and by then, they have to settle for whoever is left still pinning for their attention.

This girl has her standards, but how realistic will her demands be further down the line?

Few points:

I hope you know that "best" extends further than "best looking". I also think that's a little bit of male egotism. I don't think women have that same drive. I think males do to separate themselves. Cause surely all women with men can't their guy is the "best at x". Anyways, that's beside the point

I also don't agree about religion/ gvt. Imposing monogamy. I think men stayed with the woman to protect their baby - from that comes marriage and raising it. This makes a lot more sense to me because it doesn't mean you don't have sex with multiples, what it does mean is men stop when they get someone pregnant. If we were polygamous I don't think we'd care about cheating, whores, etc., etc. That'd be just the way it is. We prob wouldn't be too attached

The fact that men care about women cheating, don't want to relationship whores, etc., etc. Makes me think the marriage because of protecting offspring makes sense. It makes even further sense when you consider the wreckage single parent raised kids feel

More support of that is also the fact that kids do better with a stable identity in a stable household as opposed to a polygamous one where you'd prob have multiple people raising you
