Tbh I think work from home is more productive especially if everyone is integrated on teams etc.
Can get meetings setup way quicker, don’t have to congregate in an office, don’t have to listen to peoples stupid banter.

I'm currently one of the only hybrid people on the team, and he is consistently trying to drag me in more despite the fact that when I spend an hour and a half getting into the office, 9/10 times I just sit in my stupid ass cubicle cell and do the same exact work I'd do at home.

Our technology company has gone full flex. It should not have come as a surprise that productivity would skyrocket at home compared to the idiotic "collaborative" work environments that were being being pushed by zoomers in human resource departments with gender study degrees. It was the most distracting and concentration breaking situation one could create. My productivity went way up at home. I'm never going back full time and won't work for a company that insists on it.

Unfortunately upper level management controls your advancement in your career with the firm and many of those folk's like to see their "people". I've been in tech for a long time and WFH has been an option for the last 20 years or so and I've seen upper management make stupid decisions like fire all of the WFH employees and consolidate the staff into fewer, larger locations just so the god squad can watch over their minions. Of course no relocation assistance was offered. So, consider yourself lucky if you can be %100 WFH or have a hybrid work environment. BTW it's not just boomers like me who get on the authoritarian kick and want to see their "troops". This disease effects younger management types too.

Employers are crying because they can't retain good talent and they can't hire good talent - Yet those No-life boomers/Middle managers are driving people away.
Boomers/Middle Management can't comprehend the fact that it's not the 80s anymore and people don't really dream of having a corner office.
PS: I'm actually upper management and my biggest pain is the money wasted on recruitment and retaining talent.

It'll take a while but it will eventually sink in. I get recruitment sloots calling me every other day and the message for tech-cel jobs is that no wants to jump ship unless they can WTF. Tech-cel people are introverts and like their home where they can do wtf thy want when they want.

There are the types who believe in virtue more than anything else. Like my last boss. LMAO, what an idiot. Fired a guy for calling out too much, fired another guy for showing up late. I almost got fired over that. Wrote people up for goofing off. I'm not on time, but I'm on it when I'm there. Guy that was late, was highly poductive. Guy that goofed off was highly skilled and still got more done than 95% of people in his position. Guy that called out too much didn't care and had a side gig that was taking up his days, so that was one thing, but it's that he fired him over it. Then we had some people who ween't very productive, messed up all of the time, caused problems in the facility, others had to pick up slack for them, but they were on time every day, never called out, and dilligently worked the whole time they were there. My former boss thought they were star employees and rolled the red carpet out for them.

Wife left a job that wanted her to start going back to work in office 4-5 days a week after they told everyone the company was more efficient/productive with everyone working from home. So. She found a new better job working from home.
Save 90 minutes every day driving and wasting her valuable time. Wake up at 9 and start the day from bed and casually make your way to your cpu. Goat life.

I work in a profession (Medical) where we will never be able to work from home, but still, as many people that can WFH, the better. Stay the f off the roads, reduce gas prices and demand, accidents, insurance costs, etc for everyone. Why the f is it smart to have a million different people driving in every which direction to plant their ass in another chair and do meaningless **** from a cube when they can do the same useless tasks at home?
