What about specifically for head shaving? Any suggestions?

DE is a pain.

I use clippers and a modern 800-blade propowermax blade when I need to shave cleanly. Aloe shaving cream works close to as well as more expensive soaps, so I spend $1 on those lately for my biweekly shaves.

Clippers = Wahl

DE = Wolfman

The Wolfman impresses every shave. Proraso green is my go to.

I have a mustache and goatee. I use either a razor or a wahl trimmer to mark the cut lines first before lathering up. It's not really tricky to do

Where would I search to find a professional that can clean and replate old DE razors? What is the skill/trade called?
Wet shaving is my new hobby! I want to find some old school ones.

The mirror finished silver ones are chrome plated. Same chrome that's used on custom car detailing, motorbike parts, bathroom etc. There are people that do chrome plating as a craft.

Though you do have superior polished stainless steel but that doesn't flake off so it isn't what you're dealing with.

Great head shaver, uses regular 10 cent Double Edged blades (broken in halves) so very economical..they also apparently take your used blades and recycle them for free.. Grip is good, glides like cartridge razors, pivots well. Overall 8/10.
As a face shaver - it's good experience also, minus the under the nose shaving..have to find your sweet technique to get through the area

Overall a good stuff.
Did you cut yourself easily with those?

Was asking my barber(which I only go to if I wanna be lazy & special occasions) he told me that Andis used to be the GOAT but now the quality control has dropped the ball and they are Pos/defective. Then he said Wahl are decent for the money but the absolute best on the market in the barbering world is coming from Babyliss Professional. He said his Babyliss Pro Tools come with Titanium Carbon Blades and cut like a dream. He also said he gets more hours of work out of them.

He showed me his entire Babyliss Professional Barbering sets they were beautiful all customized colors to his exact specs/blade combos.

This. I have a 1949 Gilette Super Speed and I absolutely love it. I use Feather blades and Proraso cream, both of which have been mentioned above.

Today I used ice cold water for the first time and the shaving experience was amazing!

What kind of water do you Boyos prefer to shave with?

1. No cordless crap, anything with a battery is garbage and that battery is slowly losing charge and motor getting weak.

2. I have a pair of Andis clippers, SUPER sturdy build like if I dropped them I'd be more worried about the floor than anything.

Faster, cheaper, no plastic waste, and more gentle on the skin, it´s a no brainer and wish i would do it way earlier.
I use this when edging my beard and mustache. I use a regular razor for my throat/neck. I tried that with a safety razor and did not like it at all. Cut myself so many times.

I just went on that site. Looks like a decent investment if they last long but holy hell the cheapest clippers I saw were 179 dollars lol

Safety razors are life changing. We sold our souls for convenience but they had it right all along.

Now and then I go back to Mach 3's etc to remind myself how bad these were.
