No offense but admin jobs are generally just overhead for companies and are usually non-revenue producing employees. They don't need someone and can get by day to day so they will hold off.

what jobs are you applying for? When I was a teen looking for retail/food jobs I would get rejected by basically every single one. After graduating (with a useless degree), jobs were being thrown at me without even trying. I would go to the interviews, say like 2 words, and still get the job.

I actually got told this afternoon that the last company I had an interview with have offered me a position, so the search is over (for now)!

I failed the first few that I had after graduating from college. You can always call and/or email the interviewer or HR back after finding out that you didn't get the job and ask what went wrong with your interview. Seems like you have a good head on your shoulders and are doing the right thing so it must be the places and positions you are applying for.

Are you overqualified for them? That will get you not hired faster than underqualified.

Have you tried a staffing agency? They do the leg work for you and its free. Very easy to do it this way.

Keep in mind if you are applying on places like indeed or monster or online things like that, those people arent really hiring. they are posting jobs and going through the process so they can qualify for federal funding at your expense. They had no intention of hiring. If they have a big glowing ad that says now hiring with all sorts of shiny promises and not much substance, they arent hiring, just collecting resumes.

You say there were 400 other applicants. if you see jobs like this, why bother? Its too competitive when there are other companies out there who are actually looking to hire not getting any.
