I often ponder going back to the summer of 1990 and living my life over from that point on with the wisdom and knowledge I have today. I could’ve been a famous comic artist by 2005-2010 and maybe been a weight lifter in the 1996 Atlanta Olympics.

Everything is just more and more commercialized and capitalist.

Why do we fear offending anyone? Protecting our pockets. Why does music sound the same?

The divide between the wealthy and the poor is growing faster and faster and the wealthy are doing everything they can to keep it that way and accelerate the pace. The middle class, where a lot of art and society came from, is thinning out so that people at the bottom and people at the top are equally focused on money.

Culture, society, “normal” living, and art take a far backseat to capitalistic influence.

How to fix tho

It's because things are off. There's too much propaganda being pushed out by you know who. Social media really was a mistake and we could fix this problem is people stopped watching the msm and using social media. That's the only way we can go back to semi normal pre 2012 life.

It was the same way back when we (if you're 31) were growing up too though. It's for sure a little easier to see now and get involved with what you believe in due to social media, but I still remember tons of protests at college for global warming, gay rights, whatever else was a hot topic at the time. Kids at the time in college and HS were still complaining about how life was and how they weren't happy. Obviously COVID wasn't around, but the job market was about 100x worse than it is now which led to a lot of gloom and doom outlooks.

Movies released in theaters are generally reboots and superhero movies, streaming services get the other types of movies. Music changes. Those are just changing of the times based on what is selling and making money. Not some crazy change with the world.

When I first started posting on the misc, I a Chad-light in my early 20's, newly married to a woman who seemed absolutely perfect to me at the time. Lifting was still fun, and the misc was still pretty awesome compared to what it's become over the past few years. Felt like I had the world by the balls at the time.

Then that once perfect-seeming woman divorced me and took my kid away from me 50% of the time. The entire ordeal was the most brutal red pill I've taken in my entire life. Spent a couple years being a mostly miserable, deeply depressed bastard who felt like a total failure in life. The times my kid was away from me were much more difficult for me, felt like absolute dogchit when she was gone.

I've gotten much more used it since then. However, since taking that savage stomping from clown world level chit, I'm still completely unmovtivated to get back into the dating game. Not to mention the fact that social media/dating aps/etc have made dating a way bigger pain in the asss these days, too. It's kind of depressing thinking about it all, but whatevs. I've gotten so used to being single and not having to deal with someone else's bs that I barely care anymore lol.

I am 31, yes. Again, I dont' think you're totally off base. You're 100% right that people have always complained about the world, etc. But I remember the people who were protesting climate change, gay rights, etc. were usually weirdos that most people didn't associated with. I really, really don't think the average person gave two phucks about politics and whatnot, while today, I'd imagine even the football jocks in high school have opinions on this chit. Further, look at teenage suicide/depression nowadays versus back then. It's not that teenage angst didn't exist when I was growing up, but the societal malaise wasn't this widespread. It was mostly on the fringes, but is now commonplace.

Social media/smartphones have been a DRAMATIC change to our society and how we interact with/consume info and entertainment. So while I get that lots of problem we see now existed back then too, I don't think it's too crazy to think that things are materially worse now because of how life has evolved and the younger generations are picking up on this too.
