I'm not a big fan of these types of questions. There's lots of different scenarios where the answer changes depending on what I'm doing. Questions like

I cannot imagine how being mean to others could ever be exciting.
I would not cheat, even if there was only a small chance of getting caught.
I do not care much for having control over other people.
Never tell anyone the real reason you did something unless it is useful to do so.

All can vary wildly depending on what activity you're participating in, who you're talking to, or what your goal is at the time. I'm personally a fan of never revealing your motives to anyone, you never know when you're going to need to make someone believe you did something for a specific reason even if that reason is not close to accurate - but I always tell the real reason to the wife, for example. I've also been told I have a bit of the sadism in me so depending on the situation options 1 and 3 above are very appealing. As for cheating, what am I cheating on? I've got a very specific moral code that I adhere to and would never break that but am I cheating on a test? Taking a short cut to win some gay race? Who knows. In certain situations I'd cheat all day even if there was a somewhat decent chance I'd be caught.

I put neither agree/disagree for 1 above, but in many different situations that would be a strongly agree. In short I think the non-specificity here makes it pretty useless, because you can turn your emotions/empathy off or on depending on what you're looking to do, so I'd need to know more about what I'm doing, why and to whom.
