Indeed. The promise was getting infected would be very rare and even if you did it would be mild. A big part of the marketing the mRNA vaccines was they could be tweaked for specific variants relatively quickly. Pffft!!!! Delta started hitting India hard in March, started hitting the US hard in late June and until literally the last 10 days of 2021 was still the dominant variant spreading highly across the US. Omicron variant is shaping up to be a more effective vaccine and booster than the shots.
