Overall, yeah, you don't want to get it because it's basically a week of your life gone, but it's not worth the 2 years of my life I've lost due to the hysteria of this chit. It's literally like the flu - you don't want to catch it, but you're not going to stop living your life because it's flu season. The simple solution to this problem is vaccinate the people who are statistically vulnerable (say over 60 and/or immunocompromised), but let the rest of the world decide their own risk tolerance.
This. Have it now and yeah it sucks, just like getting sick from the cold/flu sucks. But it's not worth all this chit.

I don't know any unvaxed who caught it. Know about 8-10 vaccinated people that caught it and said it was hell. 2 of them hospitalized.

I also think most of the people I know that are unvaxxed are completely over covid and if they feel a little under the weather and get the sniffles they don't run and get a covid test and within 24-36hours they feel fine.

Had two folks I know in hospital from it. They are my age with kids. So it was super scary. A rare deal, but it's gotta suck to win that lottery.

You cough, become paranoid because of mass media fear campaign, willingly go to the emergency because you're terrified, get admitted, clog up a failing medical system, all so politicians can continue blaming people who don't want to get vaccinated for what you just did.

I just got over it. It was like a sinus infection pretty much. Did have a fever the first day and a pounding headache but nothing Tylenol couldn’t take care of. Felt a bit under the weather for about 3 days total. Really it’s nothing, it’s ludicrous that people are wanting to shoot up experimental drugs for that and even more so wanting to force others to do so.

Edit: I also had the OG before any shot was available and it was worse, but the only lingering symptom I had was loss of smell for a long time. My good friends 86yr old grandmother had it and hasn’t taken a shot, she was fine after a cpl of days also. The only person I know personally that has been hospitalized this whole time was a mid 50’s woman that is well over 300lbs. Even she recovered, that was also the OG before the shots were available.
This body holding me, be my reminder here that I am not alone.

My girlfriend and most of my friends got it on new years.

All of them had a low grade fever and chills for one day. Little bit of a sore throat the next day. Day 3 they were feeling much better.

Omicron is nothing compared to the OG variant, I had both and omicron is just like a mild cold. The og one was tough for me though, had me bed ridden for a week, weak for a month and it took me weeks to get my smell back, gave me ED for a month or so too. Chit was no joke.

It causes disease about on par with the original strain or the alpha variant but is 70x more transmissible.

Omicron might have done that to you too if you didn't already have protection from surviving a previous infection. One of the reasons omicron is not causing as much disease is that we all have a substantial amount of protection already from immunization and surviving prior infection.
