Games actually did need more hairstyles for the black characters other than buzzcut or bald. They might throw a poorly defined fro in there. I haven’t gamed in years, but I remember trying to customize black characters being pretty tough. (If they even had the option)

You're out of the loop then because like 80% of custom hairstyles in games now is some style of dreadlocks, braids, or afro

this, almost impossible to make a nordic white dude in half the games now. always end up with some potato biracial don lemon at best

Baldur's Gate 3, a euro fantasy, went to great lengths to include ethnic hairs. When players overwhelmingly chose the same couple of good looking generic blond euro style hairs, the devs made a blog post about how they were disappointed in the lack of diversity in player characters srs
