I've listened to my fair share of Joe Rogan over the years, mostly for his interviews relating to standup comedy, hollywood, and mma as well as some conspiracy stuff and non mainstream journalists. I don't hate the guy. He seems like a nice person and a good dad.
Many liberals have been generally upset with him for a long time, and for a variety of reasons. I saw one feminist refer to his show as "toxic masculinity with better marketing." I've seen other people criticize him as alt-right-adjacent for having long friendly conversations with conservative trolls like Gavin McInnes, Alex Jones, Charles C. Johnson, etc. He has said things like no man should ever consider himself a feminist, which sounds pretty silly (to someone like me), but it is less silly when you see his episode with Dave Foley, whose family life has been destroyed by a crazy ex wife and Canadian divorce courts which tend to sympathize with women.
My main gripe with him now is his covid related interviews with people like Dr. McCullough and Dr. Malone. It's one thing for Joe Rogan to argue politics with a Ben Shapiro, for instance, but Rogan is way out of his depth when he's talking about scientific matters, so these guys who aren't taken seriously by most in their own fields really enjoy coming on Joe Rogen to espouse their whatever to millions of naive listeners without having to worry that the scientifically illiterate host will challenge them in a meaningful way. If he were interviewing a slew of cryptozoologists arguing for the existence of Bigfoot or wendigo, I wouldn't care. But now lives are at stake, and he's functioning as a net-negative influence in this situation.

There has been nothing on joe Rogan that is comparable to.the propaganda of the mainstream media. His main thing is that young healthy people don't really need the vaccine which is true and there's nothing wrong with saying that.

So many people complaining about him not being qualified to give medical advice. He doesn't give medical advice, or any advice at all. He just interviews people, lets them have their say, pushes back gently when he thinks they are stretching or when something needs a more thorough explanation. The listener is left to take on board what they hear and make up their minds.
He just does what every journalist/interviewer is meant to do. How tf have we managed to reach the stage where interviewing people is seen as a threat?

If anyone doesn't follow the libs on every single hair-brained political position, they have to make a ballistic show about it.

Rogans situation reminds me a bit of when Jon Stewart ran the Daily Show. People criticized Stewart for being biased against the right and for not owning up to his mistakes when he got facts or narratives wrong in his bits. He never accepted the criticism. He always chafed at it. He would say he was a comedian and not a journalist.
I understand people's criticism of Stewart, but Joe Rogan isn't a satirist when he interviews these COVID skeptics. He is giving them a huge platform, and he is tacitly complicit in making **** worse. I also fear he is too stupid to appreciate that right now.

Or does one side get unfettered access to set the narrative and no matter how much misinformation they spew… it’s not to be questioned?
We live in a world where Biden can tell people that they literally can’t get COVID after getting a COVID shot and that’s just fine… but when people question vaccine mandates for work or social outings, they need to be silenced? Or when people point out long-standing research on cheap therapeutics for COVID, they are being dangerous… but new expensive therapeutics are just fine? And god forbid we do something about the real risk factors for severe disease like obesity, smoking, other comorbidites, etc. just push more shots that are marginally effective at preventing severe illness at this point, but not preventing illness or stopping the spread…
We live in a strange authoritarian world where the authoritarians are trying to convince us that the other side are actually the authoritarians and the danger to society. It’ll be interesting to see where this ends.

It's even more basic than what he says. The fact is that he draws a larger audience than all of corporate media combined. That's power. They can't have someone who they cannot control having that much power.

Rogan is just there to facilitate a conversation and I think what he does best is help break down what the experts are saying into information a non expert can understand.
That said, I have only listened to the show a couple times, I don't like podcasts

This is why no one here takes you guys seriously. I often wonder if you can even see your own bias or are you really that ignorant. I’ve passed most of you off as trolls but judging from your lengthy response, I can truly see you think this way…that all dissenting opinions with “right wingers” should be silenced like some book burning Nahzi. Seriously would not piss on you if you were burning. Complete waste of useful organs.

It's not Joe Rogan arguing with an expert. He has a expert on, expert says his piece, Joe says "what about this study that found this..." and the expert will routinely tell him why or how that particular study is flawed or the results are being misinterpreted. But it is like you said, that one doc couldn't refute anything he brought up.

modern liberals hate independent free thinkers and people that challenge their bubble.
joe rogan is also the antithesis to the soyboy cuckery in this country and most feminist liberal men hate him for that.

RIP Phil Hartman..
RIP Phil Hartman..

It's a hot night. The mind races. You think about your knife: the only friend who hasn't betrayed you, the only friend who won't be dead by sunup. Sleep tight mates, in your quilted chambray night shirts.
