Despite what everyone said, I painted the walls of my house black.

Looks good OP. Good for you for doing what you want and not heeding to others advice. Any plans for new lighting?? A nice carpet clean on the stairs would make it pop even more

Looks terrible and depressing, srs.
Use it for a feature wall in 1-2 rooms max, and go with a lighter colour for the rest of the house.

I was thinking you lived in the cold north an pained the outside western wall black to warm things up inside. I guess some people do that from what I've read.
A former neighborhood neighbor in Illinois did something like what with his house. He used dark stones though and placed them onto the western side of the house to transfer heat inside during winter. He had some system to keep the heat out during summer. .
The black painted room looks different but appears better than i though it though. Had me thinking also that you are a diehard Raiders fan.

Looks way better than I thought it would.
You have a lot of other stuff that’s not wall.
I think it looks good.
I probably wouldn’t do it but fair play op.
I was debating about all white with all black furniture…but I sold up.

That texture in the kitchen looks odd. I had when builders cheap out on quality work by hiding imperfections with popcorn, knockdown, and whatever OP has as texture to make their schitty work.
Also, do yourself a favor and upgrade that small kitchen ceiling mounted lamp with a bigger LED light.
Black walls look good in bedrooms and offices, but not kitchen/living room areas IMO.

No thanks, but to each their own.
As an architect we almost always avoid dark colors on the interior unless it's like a restaurant/lounge kind of setting. Definitely not in residential unless like a movie room. But your house, your choice!

I like all of it except the one wall with the door on it. But pictures do not necessarily mirror real life. High ceilings help keep it open.

Looks good boyo.
I'm one of those people who likes dark aesthetics and it turned out even better than I expected.
I'm building my first house currently, i'll be too pansy to do this because I'll intend to sell it in 5-10 years.
