And men with hoses squirt kerosene on the oranges, and they are angry at the crime, angry at the people who have come to take the fruit. A million people hungry, needing the fruit—and kerosene sprayed over the golden mountains.

And the smell of rot fills the country.”

Probably one of the best economics textbooks ever written. Weird thing is I dunno if Steinbeck was even an economist.

Can’t even begin to explain the devastating effects of no meat over time. Mental and physical health problems will go up 10000% more rapes, murders, suiicides, high school shootings etc. Meat is the only thing holding many people together. Srs.

Hunting isn't the answer. You are bound by seasons and land restrictions. There will be 100 people in your spot desperate with guns to shoot anything with a heartbeat. Once mass poaching takes over the game will be demolished in a few breeding seasons. It'll turn into the market hunting days but at an accelerated rate as we now have 300 million people. Owning land and having a herd is the only way, srs. This is coming from someone with 200lbs of wild pig and squirrel in his freezer.
