Its better for things to be peaceful, hopefully the mandates are lifted bc things can get really bad if truckers actually stop. Food shortages, cant get stuff from amazon anymore, etc etc. would cripple so many things and honestly im scared to think of civil war. not something any of us should want to experience

The vaccines are safe and effective. These racist and misogynistic truckers if they are even real truckers ( I know most of the real ones are fully vaxxed) are setting a bad example and are making Canada look bad. We dont want a Canadian Jan 6 insurrection on our hands.

Can't wait to see the actual amount of trucks and people, even though it's coming to my city and will create a massive mess for days. Friends who live downtown are basically fleeing and leaving town for the weekend if they can because it's going to be a gong show.

Problem is basically it's going to amount to nothing. Politicians will come out and say they support it (some of them) and there will be lots of social media stuff and sound bites but unless they actually literally drive their trucks onto Parliament Hill and start getting shot nothing will happen except a lot of people who don't live in Ottawa saying hooray for truckers and a lot of people who live in Ottawa getting super pissed off.

People forget that at the end of the day politicians only care about one thing - votes. Trudeau was actually somewhat smart to call an election when he did because he's bulletproof through the rest of this pandemic and a couple of years after, and he doesn't even care anyway because he is going to pass leadership to someone else. I'd have more respect for him honestly if he came out and actually addressed the group and told them to go home because their protest isn't going to do a damned thing and they just wasted two weeks of their lives and a lot of money. "Leadership" will do whatever the hell they want to do at the end of the day. Only way to change that is by real violence like they have experienced in other countries, and Canadians would never do that.

Finally some good news.... Especially after hearing Bonnie Henry extending the vax mandate for gyms/bars etc till June 30. Makes zero sense at all considering 75% of hospitalizations and cases are now in fully vaccinated people.
