This. In an industrialized 21st century nation complete with the benefit of online transactions and credit/debit bank cards, it seems daft to carry round huge wads of cash. It isn't insured if it is lost or stolen.

In my experience, local mom and pop shop/businesses will usually forego the taxes when I pay with cash, so I always keep a decent amount on me.

I keep most of my money in the stock market and my bank account, just nice to have some cash just in case

I usually have 200-400 in my fold and a couple 100's tucked away in a card slot for backup. Just fukking lmao @ nocashcels... Feels good as Fuk buying things in cash srs.

Brah if $1000 usd is a "huge wad" of cash and the idea of losing that much "uninsured" currency is enough to make you this worried, I think you need to step up your financial game son.

Look up "cash pill" on Amazon, they're little metal cylinders you can tightly roll a bill into and it stays dry. I keep $100 in mind but do whatever.

I put a buddy who paddle boards onto them and it saved his ass one time he caught a current and needed a ride back to his car, he'd left all his stuff at the car but had the cash to grab a cab back to his launch.
