The bar was straight on her neck on that bench. It would have pushed her spine down through soft tissue pretty fast with as much weight as was on that bar.

It's such a shame to see people treating hundreds of pounds of iron so frivolously. What made her and those idiot men with her think that was a smart thing to attempt, especially with ostensibly no knowledge of how to use the equipment properly or set the safeties?

She had no business having a bench in there like that (that's NOT a box squat).

She had no business even using the equipment since she didn't know how to use the safeties.

She had no business using all that weight.

I think people just see strong people doing stuff online, making it look easy, so they think they can do it too for some reason.

With that said, I hope she was just knocked out and not dead... but it doesn't look good. It looks like a broken neck to me.

I just saw the video, that spotter is a pos imo, he couldn't lift the barbell? It's like he just let her die, plus he should've told her that is way too heavy for her!

I wouldn't talk to someone just for having bad form on a dumb lift. That chit happens all I'm not looking to go around trying to correct people about things that probably don't matter much.

But something as blatantly dangerous as that entire situation was? Yeah I'd say something. It was pretty obvious she'd be badly hurt if she attempted that lift at that weight. I've only approached one person ever at a gym to warn them about safety, which was a time I saw some newb dude ego deadlifting while arching his back like Gumby. The key is to not sound like a prick/weirdo, but just politely express genuine concern for them with a brief explaination as to why you were worried about their safety.

Watched the video again after the claim that was her daughter was made.


It makes sense that chick noped tf out of there. Our brains are not that strong. I doubt she was able to process anything that was taking place, distraction/escape absolutely the best option for her at that time. I would not be surprised if she doesn't remember even going to the gym. You can tell by her body language how gone she is.
