A lot of them are older in their 40s. We do get along and talk but not that much. Not much common interest. There was a cool guy who was my age and we used to talk about UFC and stuff but he left a few months ago. Another guy named Peter we used to talk about games but he left too. Kinda miss them now that i think about it

Yeah the 40+ year olds are cool to talk to but we just have so many different interests. Most of them dont follow any sports/games/hobbies i follow, i kinda run out of things t say. but they are very friendly

Yeah I just replied to one of his posts just now. We seem to have similar issues. I'd love to meet him

yeah id like close friends but i feel its too late. Everyone has already made their own group of friends since high school, my ones all moved cities or drifted away.

I guess I just have to learn to be alone

I like how OP has the word fraud right in the username and we still treat him as if there's a possibility he is who he's holding himself out to be.

my username is actually based off Lance Armstrong, who was stripped of 7 tour de france titles and became a fraud

This is gold. Meet dudes on grindr then friend just zone them; instabro status. Genius.

You forgot the nohomo part though.... right?

I think it's all just a matter of routine.

I see more OCD tendencies come out in people before a deadlift than any other lift. All the weird little dances and chit people do... really weird.

That's not how you make friends. Men become friends by accomplishing goals or overcoming challenging situations together. Building trust and experience together. Messaging random guys and asking them to be friends is not how it works.

How can we build trust and experience together if they never give me a chance to meet them?

You have to meet people organically. It's too forced the way you're trying to do it.

What do you mean by organically? It feels like if i dont make a move it will never happen. i dont have groups of friends who can introduce me to their friends

Hahaha

I was swiping on hinge before and this guy had his profile as โ€œnot gay, just moved to Toronto and looking for bros to become friends with.โ€ (Something along those lines)

Guy actually seemed legit too based on his pics

Should have matched with him but I swiped left - hope it worked out for him and he met some bros

I feel a lot of people want to make friends but are afraid they will sound desperate or feel like a loser if they ask openly

The term "tryhard" is a thing for a reason. You meet people at work. You meet them at the gym. You may meet them online... but not because you pounced on them without ever having any organic conversation.

I met MetroBrah on this forum and he lifts with me and my training partner and son twice every week. But I didn't send him a private message the first time I saw him and say "hey I want to meet you." That's weird and nobody is going to respond favorably to that. It just happens organically. With Metro, he mentioned that he was moving to an area which I knew was literally fifteen minutes away from me, so the conversation went from there.

Don't force things.

I made an account to try to find out what the engineers in Formula D are working on, and it's basically the exact same stuff my dad works on in IMSA, SCCA, and TransAm, but they all go full Vin Diesel with the memes. Deleted my account after a few months because of women (srs)
