I'm pretty sure, judging from his responses, that he's never worked to achieve anything worth achieving so doesn't know this feel.

By protecting women's college sports, he is incentivizing more students to come to attend Florida schools, bringing more college grads into the state.

The whole idea of men competing against women is 100% wrong and dumb. Not all left leaning posters are for this. As a matter of fact I'd bet the vast majority are against it, like me.

With that said what Jaydawg said isn't wrong. If DeSantis really gave a chit he'd take it up with the NCAA, who allowed all this crap to happen in the first place.

That's a NCAA issue as far as I can tell. People had an issue with not paying athletes, but governors weren't sending out memos on some "well actually.... Tim Tebow deserves $1million dollars. So I declare that's what happens!"

NCAA are the real joke for allowing it to happen. Good for him for publicly coming out against it.

Now that they allow NIL the NCAA is basically useless anyway, let the individual schools and sports shape their own rules.

If I was to compete in power lifting.... Why TF would I join a competition that doesn't test for drugs when I'm clean and then complain about it?

Sure, but the woman who actually won deserves the recognition.

DeSantis has no power over the NCAA anyway, we're not talking about football either so won't get backing from the Universities. Soon enough this will be a moot point as the SEC and other athletic conferences will probably leave the NCAA eventually anyway. Why bother with their rules if the SEC doesn't need them it already contains Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Texas, Texas AM, Oklahoma, LSU, etc...

You not focusing on negative chit is good, I like what you have to say about that and I think allot of people could benefit from being more positive and not complaining.

However as adults its our responsibility to make sure the world is turning out the way we want to so we must say something to set the bar and eventually hope things will balance back out.

A biological MALE competing against biological FEMALES is kind of a big deal. Imagine if you had a daughter who got her ass wooped in MMA by a MAN.

That's sports politics and a separate issue. Letting men compete with women violates the spirit of competition at the base level.

You think this is pressuring the NCAA? Putting out a memo by the governor? This is equivalent to Alabama governor saying "No actually we won the national championship, not Georgia"

There are many ways to pressure the NCAA, and this was social media posturing

That may be... But why is this in place? Who's the governing body in this competition? If people actually have an issue with this then they'd go after them... Otherwise this is literally for social media points on a future presidential run

In 10 years, everyone will support these trans in women's sports. How do I know this? Look at how many conservatives now support gay marriage. Just like with gay marriage, everyone will support transgenders in sports, bathrooms, etc. etc. It's just a matter of time.

It's only a matter of time.

Transgenders will be just as accepted as gay marriage in 10 years. So the points in this thread are as pointless as the anti-gay marriage debates of the 90s and early 00s.

The people who were rabidly against gay marriage in 2004 all of a sudden support "adult gays getting married" in 2015.

In 2035, everyone will support the Lia Thomas' of the world.

And I can't help but think how ridiculous this is. DeSantis refuses to admit the winner is a female and calls him a man, but just waves his magic wand and declares her the winner... which she's not. And still isn't. All for show, to appease the base. Lol
