I noticed the range of motion on the pull ups being really short. But I figured that is due to having a broken hand? Yea mang, a full pull up comes all the way to your chest. Head over the bar

When I do pull ups at the park on a straight bar, I follow this cue. But that weird bent bar in the gym, I thought your were supposed to lean back into it more than pull straight up for maximum gains.

Maybe that is just some bro science I heard a decade ago that stuck with me for some reason.

I have brought shame upon my house.

Bring your grip closer on pull-ups and do the full range of motion. You’ll see better results

Interesting. I've never observed a correlation between the two exercises, but maybe I need to look into this.

Aware. Not the first time I've had to take time off in my life. Told the miscer DrewDarden how much I actually like these periods because every time you hit the gym you get a PR. Most morale building chit in the world.

Yeah I know brah. I was drinking like a madman when my hand was broken so I put on some beer weight. Once my lifts are back up to their baseline I am going to cut and get into sikkunt shape.

feel like deadlift was a bad example to use, maybe squat would be better. Getting fat doesnt really help deads near the way it does with other lifts.. in fact personally if i get fluffy it hinders my deadlift.

This. For most, getting smaller/leaner will only improve the deadlift.

Srs go to any powerlifting meet and the 220's are out-deadlifting the 308's and SHW's as a matter of routine.
