I thought a cool video series would be a 365 day wild meat only challenge. Daily quick video documenting it. Would be fun I think!
Nice.....would have to mix some groundhog in there for the Amish (pretty sure they watch video nowadays too)

I have around 200,000 acres of exclusive trapline. In Canada we have areas where only one person can trap... Beaver is awesome. Working on a trapping/beaver butchering and eating winter video right now actually.

Yes, you would think so.

What I expect US shortages may look like:

- unavailable products in stores/out of stocks

- even higher prices because globalism means we are competing with everyone for the food supply UNLESS the government stops exports which I think is near zero likelihood

- more people dependent on food banks/SNAP/dumpster diving...theft maybe

For real famine to happen here vs. hunger/hardship things would have to really go to chit.

The famine will be something happening more in poor countries dependent on cheap imported grain to keep their populations fed.

True, but we still manage animal populations with actual wildlife management principles. In a SHTF no rule of law situation, you are correct...things would be slim pickins.

I have an edge because I live in a place and have a lifestyle that lets me feed myself.

Certainly not a sustainable thing for a good percentage of the population.

My wife and I were just discussing this last night...with the price of everything, how could the average person survive??

We make good money, have no electicity bill, don't pay much in taxes, have house paid off, no sewer bill, don't need to hire someone to plow the driveway, no fuel bill because we live right beside work..a bit of propane for the stove and hot water, and we heat with wood which is cheap as hell.

No kids, and we don't buy meat...if I need something I make it usually..

How does the average person, let along single mothers etc make ends meet working the daily 9-5???

Started stocking up the moment I realized there was a chance Biden could win the election. Was quite obvious what his agenda was and the consequences of that agenda.

I have many friends that I warned as well, but they thought I was crazy when I said Biden was an extremist.

In the road to serfdom, Hayek explained that social planning in controlling people‘s lives makes one feel God like. It becomes an obsession, where the individual becomes extremely corrupt in the process. Democrats, once they start, they cannot stop. They continue to attempt to fix every problem they create, but like the hydra, when you cut off one head, two more grow back. They blame everyone else but themselves, telling people “if you just complied, this would work”.
One party system; Most Republicans are Democrats, but no Democrats are Republicans.
Hayek and Mises were right; they're all socialists.

No? You're too stupid to even address the topic.

Looking foward to quoting what biden said and bolding the important parts for you in 5 minutes.

Honestly how about we go another route.

Since I *DONT* want to worry about food shortages and price increases on food, why dont you explain to me why that wont happen?

Put my mind at ease and debunk all this bad info.

Probably plant based milk. Breastmilk you can freeze and store but if power goes out due to cyber attacks or war then the milk will spoil unless you have a gas or solar generator.

And just to summarize this thread.. Biden said food shortages were going to happen because Ukraine and Russia are the bread basket for some countries, but the US and Canada can help. We will not have a grain shortage in the US because of Ukraine and Russia. The end.

I actually initially typed out "365 day challenge: Only eat what I kill and harvest."

Lotta podcasters love that sort of thing. Never know what sort of attention you could get. I follow several youtube guys who make houses in the forest and their following is pretty insane.

I figured throwing vegan in there somewhere might be edgy, because I actually know a few people who are vegan, but will eat meat that has been harvested from the wild.

But perhaps being more straightforward would be better.
