Low quality ingredients showing up at restaurants

I ate out sparingly before. Now I avoid it as much I can other than the local restaurants that have their own gardens, no lie.
It was always chit food at any chain, now with portions down and prices up, plus the wait times, it literally makes zero sense. Plus the GF and her friend got sick from a local staple, then I did as well at a separate place. Service industry has gone to $hit.
And who knows wtf is even in the food these days. Why bother?

Japanese is the only one I've yet to try in Japan, but from what I've seen (keyword: seen) it looks better in Japan.
German food and Dutch food is just god awful. Tried at least 20 different restaurants in Turkey. Awful. Lack of beef. Lamb in everything. Gamey meat everywhere. Turkish cuisine is a ****ty spin off of Arabic/Mediterranean food.
I've lost weight coming back from every vacation I've been on because the food typically just sucks in foreign nations. Strange lack of recipe and flavor. USA is the GOAT of flavors. Speaking healthy food-wise and junk food-wise.
The only thing I noticed that are noticeably fresh in all those countries are salads and veggies/cheese on their own. Olives too. You can get all of those in the US too if you know where to order or buy that type.
Low quality ingredients are due to buying "food" from publicly traded franchises run by goofs with a degree to maximize profits who also have no concept of cuisine.

Most of the food now don't taste great anymore. I know rising costs to, but food wreaks my stomach pretty hard. Not to mention portion sizes have dwindled significantly to.

So many went under with the lockdowns it's obvious the ones that are still around have to cut corners to stay alive.

Do you wonder if some people are just so habituated they don't really even taste the food that they eat?
My aunt wanted us to meet her and my uncle at a restaurant last month that they have gone to for years. It was not good. Neither my daughter nor I finished much of our meals, but just brushed it off as poor appetite/didn't complain. Feels bad though that they spent $20-ish plus tax and tip to buy lunch for us and it was a waste.

Restaurants are in the business of making money, so they would be inclined to use the cheapest **** they can find. Most people will keep coming back rather than cook anything

A meal for two with a drink each is easily $40-50 these days. It's just a joke to pay that, especially when the meal is simple enough to prepare at home. Restaurants are highly taxed as well and I understand bills have to be paid, but with the service industry hurting the way it is, local jurisdictions should reduce the tax rate.

I don't understand how people reach the age of 21 and still have no clue how to cook. I guess I took it for granted learning from my mother growing up, but people who order out every day must be spending so much ****ing money.

Went to our favorite Mexican restaurant last weekend and my wife and both got the chicken chimichanga, chit was almost half the size it usually is. I’ve noticed for a while now that chicken has been in short supply.
Thanks biden
