That chick trying to shield him got him killed. Had the cops had him 2-1 they likely would have tased him and cuffed him. But they couldn't react cause that chick. He knocked that cop out, getting shot will happen 10/10 times doing that

His niece’s wedding was the first day he was able to come out and celebrate in a long time. This shooting was unjustified and we are working with a lawyer and the FDLE to get the entire truth out.”

The family has retained the Morgan & Morgan law firm to represent them as the case moves forward.

The law firm released a statement Wednesday to News 6. It reads:

“39 days ago, Daniel Knight went to a family wedding to celebrate the marriage of his niece. He never made it home. Today police – more than a month after his unnecessary death – finally released video of the incident. The only thing the video establishes is that Daniel Knight did not deserve to die; his family continues to mourn his death and we will fight for justice on their behalf.”

The shooting is currently being investigated by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement. News 6 reached out to FDLE for an update on the investigation.

Who the fuks tries to punch and knock out multiple cops? I've gotten hammered, and know many people that have gotten hammered and not one person has ever thought about doing that. Shooting was justified at that point.

Yeah he escalated it though. Look I don't like cops coming into any given situation and just swinging their legal dick around, but keeping a cool head virtually always means you get through and encounter with police. Instead, dude nearly KO'd two of them.

damn, i live right down the road from there. dude is responsible for his own actions and officers did what they had to do, but as usual the women involved inadvertently escalated things to new heights and ultimately are partially responsible as to why he was killed. imagine acting like that at nearly 40 years old.

Every situation a cop is involved in contains at least one deadly weapon- their own handgun. If a situation escalates to the point where someone else can get control of that gun (such as in this case where one of them gets knocked out cold), now there’s at least one unsecured deadly weapon on top of the roid raging, swinging retards fists.

That’s how it works, and that’s how their trained. “If he knocks me out and takes my gun, or that one from the other officer he just KO’d, I’m dead.” That’s why they shot him.

Moral of the story, don’t try to fight someone who has a gun. There’s more to it than “hurrrr durrr, he’s just throwing punches and isn’t armed!!!” He could be in a split second, and that becomes the problem

I think that it's messed up that the cops shot dead an unarmed drunk guy at a wedding - that's god awful and I don't think it's justifiable to do that in any context unless the 'perp' has a weapon.
