For sure. Even with the propane it was nothing to see 30 degree swings out of nowhere at least with the unit I was using. These Pit Boss keep is completely level which is nice.

not to mention hardwood and propane is like 3x the cost of hardwood pellets

Honestly ol' Weber Kettle is the best charcoal smoker.

Enjoy the electric, I had one for years, worked great. Can you cold smoke with the one you bought? You can make some nice smoked cheese and fish.
